This bird lives in Petra, Jordan in rocky environments that do not contain plants, and it resides in rocks, mountains and fortified crevices incubator makes it a suitable habitat for this bird to live in and to reproduce in addition to that this bird is one of the birds that do not live without water and the presence of springs in Petra makes it the place The ideal pink bird living.

3- The characteristics of the pink bird
The pink bird is a small bird, whose length ranges between 15.5-16 cm and weighs between 17-24 grams, and there is a big difference between the pink male and the female in the colour of the head and body, as the male is distinguished by its pink and red colour and its brown wings, and this colour acquires after about a year of Reproduction and hatching.

In 1994, shortly after Dana Biosphere Reserve was established, RSCN began its Research and Survey section, made up of experienced researchers with the primary goal of collecting information at the reserves needed to create a sustainable living environment for wild animals through scientific research. Shortly thereafter, Wild Jordan has created as a business branch of RSCN dealing with socio-economic projects. In 1999, RSCN started a training program to build local and regional skill in conserving nature. RSCN raised more awareness in 2005 with a "Save Jordan's Trees" campaign. Jordan's sixth and latest nature reserve, Dibeen Forest Reserve has created in 2004, cementing 1,200 square KM of protected natural landscape throughout Jordan.

FIFA Nature Reserve has designated in 2011. In 2018 Burqu, Dahek, and Dmeitha nature reserves have designated.

Additional nature reserves and sites for preservation have been propose.

In October 2018, Ajloun Natural Reserve won a place among the top 100 sustainable destinations on the global tourism map.

 

Geography and climate:

The climate in the reserve is rare in Jordan as wooded areas account for only 1% of Jordan's area. The geography of the reserve contains mostly rolling hills and valleys as well as some springs. The reserve enjoys a Mediterranean-like climate but was been affected by desertification and deforestation for the past 200 years.

Flora and fauna:

The reserve is home to a wide variety of plants and animals. The following animals can be found at the reserve:

 

RSCN programs:

The RSCN manages the reserves public and touristic programs. Tourists can stay in tented lodges or cabins between the months of March and November. The RSCN also leads an educational initiative for local youth to learn about biodiversity. Students have taught to measure soil quality, monitor tree renewal and classify plants and animals. The RSCN has also re-introduced the locally extinct roe deer from specimens taken from Turkey. Today there are approximately 12 deer living within the reserve as part of a captive breeding program.

🌍Oryx leucoryx

Flocks of the Arabian Oryx completely disappeared from the wild in Jordan in the 1930s due to hunting operations and natural influences.  The conservation efforts of the Arabian Oryx in Jordan began in 1978, when the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature released 11 heads of Arabian oryx in the Shomary Reserve.  In 2002, the Arabian Oryx was resettled in the Wadi Rum Nature Reserve in the south of Jordan.
