The applications for the  current network are audio, video and data. Most Telco have changed from circuit  switch to packet switch in order to cope with competitors in terms of lower price  rate per call that they provide. In packet switch network it uses protocol  architecture, which is layered structure of hardware and software that supports  the exchanges of data between systems. Each protocol provides a set of rules for  the exchange of data between systems. Most widely used protocol architecture is  TCP/IP protocol suite.
 a) Help Cisco to predict the future on network application. 
b) Engineers in Cisco need to make decisions to design the specification of  the switch. 
) Provide explanation on which TCP/IP layer will the switch work related  to the future network application.
