Trying to give feedback (both glow and grow) on EVERY assignment as well :) keep them motivated to submit their work in the course!</p><p><br></p><p>AI submissions (feedback on those assignments) - trying to work with them (what didn't you understand?). Asking to hear more of their original thought shine through in their work. Giving them a chance to resubmit the work. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>When kids miss parts of an assignment, bc they haven't read the directions, I will give them feedback on the work that they've completed and then encourage them to complete the other parts and submit again. If it's a 20% or less lost I will ask them if they'd like to complete the rest, if it's many points (80%) I will revert it back to draft and ask them to complete it.</p><p><br/></p><p>Will also make a note in Genius, on the personal notes tab, and add info like how they've done previously and what else I'm looking for.</p><p><br/></p><p>As an ELA teacher, it's easier to build connections bc they are writing about themselves so questions about this I can refer to in the feedback.</p><p><br/></p><p>When I reach out about work and they respond with personal info e.g.,, a sport they play, I make sure to reach out again and ask about this to build report</p><p><br/></p><p>I use humor to build report, whether it's a first meeting or via a Google Meet, it's a good way to show them that I'm a human; not all building report happens via feedback.</p><p><br/></p><p>When I send my NR1 emails I always add a, "I look forward to hearing back from you tomorrow and if I don't I'll give you a call and we can talk then!" and that will elicit a reply.</p><p><br/></p><p>Pay attention in Genius to gender so that when I reach out to connect I'm using the correct pronouns </p>]]></description>
