In the prologue at the beginning of the book, a boy named Robin is stranded on an island. While he is on the island, a group of pirates invade. There is a woman pirate who seems to be made fun of and tries to run away. The story changed talking about the present, but we soon learn that Robin has now teamed up with her and they were both rescued from the island. She goes by Friday.

After Robin and Friday are rescued, they find themselves on "The Stars End" boat bringing them back to London. They are brought back and find themselves in a huge crowd of people in London.

When we fast-forward through the story, we see that now Robin and Friday have met a man named Daniel Defoe. He brings them into a diner asking them about their rescue and offering to pay money for information. They feel suspicious about him and follow him back to wherever he is going. He leads through a dark alleyway, when multiple big men corner Robin and Friday. It seems to be a set-up and they are led somewhere.

Daniel Defoe and the men have now brought Friday and Robin into a room inside of a boat, where they are recruited by Defoe to be secret spy agents for a group named "Segment W."

Dear Andrew Lane,

I have read your book recently and have a review about it. I like the idea of having a spy book, with lots of adventuring, but this book seems a little confusing. This type of genre just might not be my type to read, but it has been hard for me to understand. I truly like how you have put this book in the 1600's and the setting of London. I also like how you put historical figures in this book like Isaac Newton. I finally like how you started this story with the prologue of a stranded boy on an island, which is intriguing. After that, I think you still have made a good book, but it doesn't fit my personal liking.

I rate this book a 3/5 Stars. I think that this is a pretty good book that other people would enjoy reading, but It was hard for me to understand in the beginning of the book. I didn't get far through the book and I had to look back through pages because it didn't make sense. I still think it has good parts like the prologue, with the setting of an island where a boy is stranded, which is pretty good. I also really enjoy the action-packed fighting scene. This is why I rated my book like this.

The author believes that hard moments bring the best out of you. He believes this because he puts the characters, like Robin and Friday, who have been in disastrous moments, like having their father die in a boat sinking leading to being stranded on an island, and being stuck with a group of pirates that you want out of. These moments bring the best out of the two with great surviving skills learned. The author then puts them through various challenges, that without their bad moments, they would not be able to compete without each other. We also see their surviving skills being told between chapters with the flashbacks of being on the island. We get to learn more about what they learned together, and how they got through these hard moments.

We get through the story and see the biggest event. After Friday and Robin have been recruited, we see that they have to protect the Countess of England due to suspicion of attack because a kidnap attempt happened. The crew goes to the Countess and an attack happens while they are there. The crew fights back, but they are outnumbered. The Countess has been kidnapped. Why do they want her? Where did they bring her?

This relates to the story because throughout the book, we meet people who are smart and use science to explain things. We also get multiple scenes before being kidnapped of Isaac Newton who is being very interesting person.

In the book, I think the two biggest quotes are in the same time. We see that Daniel Defoe has been persuading Friday and Robin slowly to join their crew. He wants them to join Segment W to protect London and make it a better place, At this moment we see the quote, "What is to be-join us, work for us, help make England a safer place? Or make your own way in the world?" We also see a quote when they think about the oppurtunity, "We're in." We see this motto spread through the book with the duo's daring survival skills. (Pg.62)
