• Create a routine

• Create activities in the mornings suited to the child's interests for them to engage in during drop off. This builds a relationship on understanding of the child and assist in transition.

• Provide the child and show the parents self-regulation strategies for the child that they can use to ease anxiety.

Provide parents with support to create a routine to support the transition of the parent leaving and ease the child's anxiety of transitioning.

Regulating emotions.

Provide children with support to recognise, understand and learn strategies to support their mental health and regulation. Strategies of RULER and circle of courage.

Maintaining routines and habits in school and at home. For example, having lunchtime at a similar time to school time, getting ready in the morning, using similar storage systems at home (e.g. where their bags go or toys), and wearing hats/sunscreen outside.
