    • Teams of 2-6 study how the climate-friendly aviation technologies of tomorrow will change the airports of 2050. Airplanes will soon be using new fuels that are better for the environment and will likely have new designs that allow them to fly safer, faster, cleaner, and quieter. These advancements will require infrastructure updates or design overhauls to existing or new airports. 
    • Blue Skies asks teams to propose airport designs of external elements to accommodate these new climate-friendly aviation technologies.We invite you to spread the word, create a team and wow NASA with your creative solutions to pressing engineering, planning, architecture, and sustainability issues for the aviation industry!
  • When:
    • NOIs accepted on a rolling basis until March 3.
    • (NOTE: Submitting an NOI as early as possible ensures your team will receive the latest updates on a timely basis)
  • Prizes:
    • Up to 8 finalist teams receive a $6,000 stipend facilitate competition participation.

    Applicant Criteria:
    Competitive applicants will exhibit the following:

    • Strong character
    • A true love for Georgia Tech


    Qualifications:
    • Undergraduate student in the College of Engineering
    • Junior or Senior standing (by time, not credit hours) by the end of Fall 2021
    • Minimum 3.0 (Overall) GPA
    • Full-time student or co-op student graduating from Georgia Tech in Spring 2022 or beyond


    Scholarship Application Process:
    • Complete a written application AND have a recommendation submitted for you by a non-student member of the Georgia Tech community (faculty, staff, or alumni)
    • Semifinalists will be selected from the pool of written applications; semifinalists will then be interviewed
    • All three scholarship finalists will be selected from the pool of interviewees


    Scholarship Timeline:
    All deadlines are in Spring 2022.
    • Friday, January 7, 11:59pm - Application AND recommendation deadline
    • By Sunday, January 16 at 11:59pm - Interview decisions will be released, alongside information on scheduling interviews
