I know little information about Native Americans, which I got from a book recommended by our teacher. It's about a relationship between their succesion on casino industry and their history.
Native amercans are thought that they live with nature, and it's not a wrong image of them. They respect nature and use those sources with understanding co-living with nature. However, they are human, so they need to get money and make up their cost to live by themselves. Some people don't think casino industry is a good way to make profit, and once I had a similar opinion with them, but we must not ignore the fact if they lose that way, it's hard to live.
It is our minimum responsibility as the one on the same planet to understand what happened to them and what they're facing now.

LGBTQ flags

One of LGBTQ people introduced their flags for LGBTQ.
The first one is really common and I've seen this flag, but there are other kinds for each categories' symbol, and every flag has a meaning to its color and shape.
For example, a flag for intersexual, It has a circle in the middle, and at the first sight, I had a question because that was the only one that has a circle on a flag, except for this, they had all boaders.
And they told me its meaning. Sometimes we use marks to express their sex. I put those marks at the third picture.
We basically use marks to tell male or female, but there are other genders in this world like lesbian, gay and transgender and so on, and for an intersexual, too. There is a mark. That is a circle shape. And the point is it shows it lacks no things. It just doesn't have its preference direction like " I love man" or "I love woman". Their explanation made sense, and I was able to understand why there are many flags for LGBTQ. The flags play a role to show their identity.

In those things, there are some similarities to Hokkaido in Japan.
For example, they catch fish by making a hole on the ice and taking fish with a fishing pole, and they have eagles for their house. It's like Japanese "kamakura".And also, toss is like a trampoline.
It's interesting that we live in totally diffrerent environment, but have similar events or tools to make our life better.
I'd like to search some clips and check how they work, especiaaly I'm happy if I can find one for toss.
This below picture shows her mother and aunt wearing nice traditional clothes.

https://youtu.be/GD3dgiDreGc
In history classes, we are taught columbus found big continent and he was a legend, but once we know about Native American's history, we can't just say he was a hero, and some states have the similar opinion and stopped to celebrate the Columbus day. I can't say which is right, but I believe we need to respect each pespectives here because one feels more sympathy to Native Americans and the other feels Columbus was a pioneer to open our society. That is up to person, so as I said, it's hard to decide who is right or not, but we firstly have to know the fact and educate students with a reliable textbook, which has both good and bad sides that Columbus gave to Native American's community. That is a first step to discuss for our future generation and ours.

We joined in gueer prom today.
We danced, sang, and played with baloons. It was the first time for me to join in this kind of party, so I'm not sure what I do at first, but gradually, I found that I can just enjoy by myself by dancing with LGBTQ people, having some snacks and clapping my hands to rhythm for karaoke. However,I found we, Japanese and they, LGBTQ people gathered by each and chatted by just their own. I sometimes tried to clear that kind of unseen walls and communicate with them, but it's difficult. I think it's ok to enjoy by our own style, but in order to know each other,we need to break that walls, of course, it doesn't mean to forse them to be open, but I'd like them to feel more comfortable to be with us. And I wonder what I can do to solve this situation.

〇Marriage for all Japan

https://www.sankei.com/economy/news/200213/prl2002130593-n1.html

It's an association which fights for people who want the right for marriage. The people includes LGBTO people and also people who don't choose marriage to connect with loved one. In my opinion, I can't understand why Japanese system don't allow gay couples to get married. They love each other and want to get married. We need to give them right to do so, that's it.
I guess the reason is that they think of marriage at the same time as giving birth. It makes sense, and actually I have this kind of process of thinking for marriage, but it's a not perfect theory. We need to cover the idea that some couples don't want their a child or can't get a child. And if we think about that, marriage and giving birth should be separated option, besides, if they are separated, we don't have to stick the rule. "Man and woman get married."

So some people think tradition is important, but we must rethink who is the rule for. I don't think it fits our modern society, like "diversity".
Just sticking tradition never gives us improvement. So if we do so, we need to have a reson for it, and if they can't say the reason, that tradition should be changed for our better life.
Many people found that and want to support this association. The number for signature became 30,000 according to the above website.
It's time to change for more peace in Japan.

What I've learned for LGBTQ was how complicated situation they have.
Firstly, I thought we can solve LGBTQ discrimination by knowing about LGBTQ well, but things are not so simple. Most people who disagree to LGBTQ community believe in catholic, and in bible, there's a story which can be a reason to refuse admitting their existance. Originally, we believe that
the couple should be consisted by man and woman for keeping generation,so they feel bad to LGBTQ issues and some are aggressive to LGBTQ people. Here, the point is that both catholic and LGBTQ are part of their identity, and no one can't change their idea easily. So in my current conclusion, even if we can't understand one's belief, we need to respect each other, and must not be aggresive and must try not to hurt anyone.
And talking of Native American, I knew some serious history like being forced to stay in a camp during world war two, but I didn't think about the impact they still have now. For example, there are some problems about passing their own language, customs and tradition by words because of one policy which bans using languages except for English. Those laws are extremely disgusted and hurt their feeling badly. However, people at that time couldn't notice and stop those worst things and ignore their suffering. That can happen if we don't take action to understand other cultures, customs, or way of thinking. We shouldn't repeat that worse thing, so for now, I'd like to know what I've not seen as much as I can so that I can get another point of view and give my point of view to someone.

He told us that they don't take entrance fee because they can earn money from their business and that is enough for them, in his opinion. I guess they may succeed in their business and get on the way well, so they don't have to take extra money.
And I have one more question about limitation of using casino per week because in Japan, there's a rule to limit one's casino usage like three times a week, and I wonder it works well or not, so I asked about that. His answer is "no", so they don't have limitation, but to avoid addiction or some troubles because of too much usage, which Japanese government cares about , they do counceling or help them as a support.

No matter their gay couple, straight couple, or single mother, they truly hope to have a kid regardless of lots of trouble for raising one human, so my point is that we must not classify like "Oh, that boy has two dads, no, I wouldn't let my kid to communicate with them", it's wrong, and old.
〇"Playing with gender", positive recognition as queer

https://youtu.be/QXjfZLwpNbo
They noticed they had options to identify themselves except, "he" or "she" pronoun. i like their idea "No gender confirmation day" because we can understand what they feel by experiencing "playing with gender". It sounds like a festival to me, but actually it has more meanings there because if we once notice those identites, we can't just say "no", and it leads us to reduce prejudice to LGBTQ people. So like festival or whatever, the point is to do something together, I mean, not only by themselves, but also with us who are not sure what LGBTQ situation is. There are actually some events and some people positively join in those events, but it's not enough. Many people have no idea even that existance. So, I believe to keep holding these events and letting us to join will help us understand LGBTQ more and more.

When we start our program, I have little idea about LGBTQ people and Native Americans, and still I can't say my knowledge is enough, but clearly, my point of view has been spreaded by listening to some stories. I'll refer to an example for each.
First, talking about LGBTQ people, I actually had prejudice to them, like they aren't the same to us, so I can't understand their thought, and from my experience of elementary school. I take "gay" or "leabian" people as a kind of joke.
However, from current opinion, what I thought to LGBTQ people weren't proper. Yet I can't understand whole situation they have, I must try to understand it and it's not out of my job. I should think together when I face that situation as a teacher and support students. We had many chances to listen to stories, and in my sense, they always told us the importance of support around LGBTQ people including family, friends, and teachers. Now, I need to know more about Japanese situation and take time to think what I can do to make students think about this problam positively and accept ideas by each other.
Second, I'll mention about Native Americans. Before this program started, I had storong image of connection between Casino industry and Native Americans because of a book I read. And this connection is important, but I missed other points including how they pass their culture or language under strong pressure on them to control their identity. The most significant learning is there are some people who try to pass their tradition with all means they can,for example, they originally don't have letters, but in order to tell their language, they created words besides, some people use their almost all the time to record one's voice to leave tape that decendant can listen to that in the future. I think it's really cool that they have pride to their own culture and do everything for that.
So in conclusion, I need to tell students even if something is not used anymore, that was used and thought important. By respecting this history, we can show appreciation to be here and live as a human. All history including bad thing, good thing, or whatever have created current peace, so we need to learn more about our own country's culture first, and see that in world's perspective. And then we can consider how we should change to improve equality in the world.

It's not propper usage to say "gays", "lesbians" or "transgenders" because we all human at first, and then we decide our identity in our way. So, the right ones are "gay people", "lesbian people" or "transgender people".
I have heard both ways ,but I wasn't sure there's a difference, so it's interesting to know, and I think we should be careful to use some terms, the best way is checking before we use.
