The character I picked is Pippa Fitz-Amobi. Pip is the most important character in the story, as the reader's information comes mostly from events in her life, which makes her a round character, as the reader's perspective on certain things are molded by Pippa's point of view. Pippa's role in AGGGTM is undoubtedly the most crucial, as the plot continues based on events in her life. Pip's character is complex, including many different traits that the reader develops and understanding of as the book progresses. Her traits allow the reader to feel empathetic, as many can relate to her struggles and humor in the story. Pippa is considered a dynamic character. During the story, Pippa changed from only focusing on the clues and information about the case, to feeling strong empathy towards all the suspects and people involved in the case. Her hardworking spirit falters as she is faced with real dangers from the case and has to worry about her loved ones. She has to change who she is to try to protect what she loves from whatever evil is threatening her. Throughout the story, Pip goes from knowing very little about the Andie Bell case to falling face-first into the many layers of clues. By the end of the story, Pip feels as if she is a part of the case, and knows about everything that there is to know about the case. Pip goes from being a smart student to being a full-on detective that has to worry about someone trying to hurt her. In summary, the character I chose, Pippa Fitz-Amobi is a dynamic and round character.

In the novel, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson, Pippa "Pip" Fitz-Amobi is a high school senior who decides to reopen a murder case in her town that has gone cold for her senior capstone project, in order to graduate. The case is that of Andie Bell, a teenage girl who went missing and was pronounced dead, presumably murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, which due to the stress of being determined as the killer, was driven to take his own life.

Pip, who knew Sal when she was a child, questions the fact that he was the supposed murderer, and believes that the police got the case wrong. Although hesitant at first, Sal Singh's brother, Ravi, agrees to help Pip solve the case if it will help prove that his brother was not the culprit.

Pippa painstakingly interviews multiple friends, family members, and others who are linked to the case of Andie Bell, finding many pieces of crucial evidence that shows that Sal may not be the murderer. After organizing all of her thoughts, evidence, and clues into a file, she uncovers cracks in the timeline of 'events' that occurred on that fateful night. Pip realizes that she is close, maybe too close, to solving the case and finding out what really happened to Andie. Knowing that she has almost exposed the truth, Pip begins to receive threatening notes from an unknown individual telling her to stop digging, threatening her and her family with violence if she continues to search for evidence relating to the case. Pushing aside the aggressive messages and the possibility of danger, Pippa continues her investigation and her dog, Barney is murdered as a result of her not listening to the warnings of the stranger. Pippa's non stop digging causes her to become enemies with many people involved in the case, and she accuses many suspects of being responsible for the murder, with many of her accusations being false.

After conversing with a few of Andie's classmates, Pippa determines that Andie Bell is not the 'perfect kind-hearted girl', that the whole town makes her out to be. Combining the narratives of many individuals who knew of Andie's dark secrets, Pippa finds out that Andie was a ruthless, cruel bully to her friends and peers alike, and to her astonishment, that Andie was selling drugs to her classmates at school. One of her customers, a boy named Max Hastings, one of Sal's best friends, used Andie's drugs, specifically Rohypnol, to drug girls and rape them at big gatherings, infamously nicknamed 'calamity parties'. Also, to her horror, Pip unmasks that Andie was participating in an inappropriate relationship with a teacher, Elliot Ward, the father of Pip's best friend, Cara.

After Pippa's painstaking work and continuous digging, she finds out the truth. Pip makes a visit to Mr. Ward and finds out his perspective of Andie's story, and also that he is holding a girl hostage in his attic, thinking that she was Andie. Pippa then goes to Becca, Andie's sister's house and finds out the whole truth. Becca confesses everything to Pip, including the fact that she was one of the girls who were raped using Andie's drugs. Pippa pieces the truth together and now knows the whole story and proof that Sal Singh did not commit suicide and was not responsible for the death of Andie Bell.

In reality, Andie went to Mr. Ward's house out of the blue. The two of them began to argue, with Andie saying that he is disgusting, and she only pretended to like him to get a college recommendation. The arguing grew more heated, and Andie started to destroy Mr. Ward's important belongings, and he shoved her, causing her to slam her head against his desk, which made her head begin to bleed. Mr. Ward rushes away to get his first aid kit, but when he comes back, Andie is nowhere to be found. Andie, who has a concussion, stumbles her way back to her home. Upon entering her house, Andie is confronted by Becca about her selling drugs. Andie says horrible things to Becca, who pushes her to the floor in outrage. Andie begins to vomit and eventually chokes to death on her own vomit. Panicked, Becca takes Andie's body to an old farmhouse in Andie's car and disposes of her body in a septic tank. After finding out that Andie was missing, and believing that he was the culprit to her disappearance, Mr. Ward kills and frames Sal Singh for the murder of Andie, planting evidence on him. that would prove he was the criminal who killed Andie. Trying to warn Becca to leave the country and make herself a new life, Pippa begins to drink a cup of tea that Becca prepares for her. After a few sips, Pip begins to feel drowsy and realizes she has been drugged. Pippa is almost killed by Becca, but is saved just in time by her family and Ravi. Becca is arrested for murdering her sister.

The book ends on a cheerful note, with Pippa and Ravi beginning a relationship and the case being solved. Pippa makes a speech to many people, and feels content about solving the case of Andie Bell.
