Hello! What is the difference between osmotic pressure and effective osmotic pressure Thank you

A: the osmotic pressure is the pressure that would exert (in theory) a solution if all its solutes (osmolytes) were impermeable to the membrane that would be exerting that osmotic pressure (eg the plasma membrane). The effective osmotic pressure is the one that that solution generates taking into account that solutes are impermeable to the membrane (those "effectively" exert pressure) and which are permeable (which in practice can not generate osmotic pressure)
