I have two brothers.  My older brother is named Dusty and he lives in Dallas with his wife and my nephew, who is a senior this year and is attending his high school virtually.  My niece is a sophomore in college at Texas A&M.  My younger brother's name is Mason and he lives in Texarkana with his wife, Genie.  

After I graduated high school, I got my bachelor's and master's degrees in English.  I started teaching high school when I was only 21 years old.  It's hard to believe that this will be my seventeenth year teaching.   I have taught at a lot of schools in my career:  I started in Fouke (a really small town outside of Texarkana), I moved to Arkansas High School, and then I taught at the University of Arkansas Community College in Hope for a number of years.  I moved to Hot Springs eight years ago, and this is my 8th year at Lakeside.  I teach Spanish and English classes here.  I have one daughter, Ella, who is six years old and is going into the first grade with Mrs. Warren at the primary school.

I learned to speak Spanish by taking classes in school, but my brother’s ex-wife was also fluent in Spanish and I attribute the majority of my knowledge of the language to her.  I love to travel and have visited Spain and Mexico, but my favorite city that I’ve ever visited is Paris, France.  I missed out on taking a vacation this year because of the pandemic.  In my free time, I like to read, plant flowers, and stay active in the community however I can.

This year will be very different - none of us are accustomed to teaching and learning fully online.  Last year, we Zoomed - this year, the content will be pre-recorded so that you can work at your own pace.  What I can promise you is this:  I will work with all I have to deliver the strongest content knowledge possible and I will always be glad to be here and glad that you're here, too.  I'm attaching a picture of me and my daughter Ella.  I'm looking forward to reading your letter of introduction and virtually "meeting" you all!

I can promise you this:  No matter what your skill level is entering this class, if you do your part, you will see an improvement in your ACT scores on the English and reading sections.  I look forward to working with you this year. My name is Julia Roberts. I will be turning 17 in November. I was born in Little Rock Arkansas um my parents said I was made in los vegas sooo what happens in vegas stays in Vegas but I came home I guess not. I was a gymnast from the time I was 10 to 15.

I moved up here in my 9th grade year here for lakeside schooling because this school has the best graduation rate as a public school. I went to a private school from k3 to 4th grade then I was homeschool and put into gymnastics for 4 years and I made it to level 9 which is almost the highest level.  

When I moved I honestly had no idea what to expect because I was used to small crowds because there were only 10 people in my grade in my old private school then only me when I was homeschooled. I was so scared at first because I was the new girl no one really liked me. Something else is I love any animal or any creature. I would love to be a marine biologist when I grow up or when I get older because I want to be around the ocean and the animals that live in the ocean. 

I am also a cheerleader for lakeside and would love to go be a college cheerleader one day soon. My dream college would be Louisiana State University or even University of Central Florida. They both have good cheer teams and good marine biology programs to help me learn how to handle and heal the animals of the ocean. Also something should know about me is i pretty much never leave my bed i'm not really a people person. I only go out if i'm with my family.  

I have a teacup yorkie his name is dexter from dexter the laboratory cause he is so little. I have one friend I talk to on the daily to be honest she kinda lives with me. I have one brother who is soooo stupid he decided to drink and drive one night and hit a tree and was in the hospital  for almost 2 weeks he had a collapse lung, broken ribs and his foot was in half. I called it stupidity. He did learn his lesson and never drank again. I also have another older brother but he died when he was 8 months old from an overdose my mom gave him the right amount but the pharmacy gave him medicine like he was 11 years old and not just a baby.   

I have 7 siblings, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers. There wouldn’t be enough room to talk about all of them, they all live here in Hot Springs. My family branches out to a lot of schools here as well, Lakeside, Lakehamiton, Fountain Lake, and Mountain Pine. Lakeside definitely stands at the top for me. Family is all we have when it comes to trust and reassurance, I know they have me at all times. That is a little about my family!

I am part of the Lakeside Football team, and Lakeside Choir. Football builds and teaches character, it has taught me so much. I am grateful for that and my teammates who are with you in the wins, and loses. Lakeside Choir is just a big family, they truly care for your well being, and want to know you more. I love to sing and it has got me through things, so being able to use that gift and use it for something bigger than me is awesome!

I plan on being a teacher later in my life, I am going to start that journey at National Park College. That is a cheap and affordable college for a quality education, I plan on teaching intermediate level. I want to teach here at Lakeside because of the environment and love for their employees. This is my home away from home. That is about me, I look forward to this year, and I hope God pours out many blessings on you and your family! 

Chase Campbell

When I was younger I use to do gymnastics and play T-ball. At about 7 years old I gave up gymnastics and stuck to softball. I also started playing basketball. Softball has always been my favorite sport. I currently only play softball. I play softball for the high school team and I play travel softball for an organization called Arkansas Platinum. 

While going to school I have realized that English is my hardest subject for me because I am not to good at spelling and reading. I struggle the most with comprehending what I read after I read something. My favorite subject or most easy subject to learn is Math. Math just comes easy because I am good with numbers. 

Once I get out of school I want to go to college and play softball and major is something along the lines of criminal justice. I want to be able to become a juvenile probation officer. This stuff interests me a lot because I want to work with children that are bad. I want children to be able to trust me and talk to me about their problems. 

When i turned 10 i played basketball at the YMCA and did not play at all so i quit.Then i started to play football in 5th grade on the blue team.We were good we did not lose a game that year but again i did not play a lot.

Then came high school when I got introduced to wrestling. I was ok at it but I still losted a lot of matches but I was still getting better at it. 

That bring us to today i ok at football and i am ok at wrestling but i try hard at all the sport i do in my freetime and i also work at fast food restaurant 

My favorite thing is football. I like the NFL, more specifically the Dallas Cowboys. I play football here for Lakeside and also do track during the offseason of football. My favorite player on the Cowboys is Zeke Elliott because of how good he is and how dominant he is against other teams during games.

After school I either hang out with my friends or I stay home if i'm really tired from practice and play video games. My favorite video games are Madden 21, Minecraft, and 2k. I’ll usually play video games on the weekends when i'm bored because it gives me something to do.

What i want to be when I grow up is a Football coach/Track coach who teaches us history. I would like to teach us history while being a coach because my favorite time in history is the American Revolutionary War. As a football coach I would like to one day be the head coach/offensive coordinator of some high school/college team.

I moved to lakeside half way through 9th grade. It was kind of a difficult change, from a small school like Cutter.  To a big school like lakeside. There was one thing I realized very early on, that the staff and faculty were very kind and helpful.  

I have two brothers. Jason is the oldest out of us; he lives in hotsprings with his two daughters. then it goes dakota. He moved to LA in december To pursue acting at a college there.

I am the 3rd youngest. My little sister Gracie lives in Kentucky with her dad. 

I have two dogs. The first one is ezzy she is a chiwawa. My other dog is a morkie. Her name is margo. I have had both of them for about 4 years now. 

I am a senior this year. I am having to repeat this semester because I didn't pay that much attention last year. So do to that I feel behind. This year I am going to try and stay on task. Turn in all my work on time and have  (NO Missing work). Besides that, I Hope this last year at lakeside is going to be a good one.

 When I’m not playing baseball I like to travel the nation with my family. Every year my family goes on two vacations to different locations all over the U.S. Some of the places that we have been include Yellowstone and St. John, U.S.V.I. Some other places we have gone include Chicago, the great smoky mountains, and Disney World. 

 In school My favorite subject is Math. Math has always come easy to me since I was young. My least favorite subject is English. I have never really been a big reader and have never really comprehended some of the things that I have been taught.

After school, I hope to go to college for Broadcasting. Ever since I join the broadcasting program I have been in love with it. My goal is to one day travel to world filming sporting events.

I spend most of my free time working out, playing video games,  and hanging out with friends and family. When I'm not doing those things I'd be at football practice or church. In the future I hope being on the lake will be on that list if I could convince my dad to buy a boat. I also really like mexican food. 

Fun fact I actually played the guitar for like two weeks, but then my guitar broke and I haven't played since. My favorite subject in school is history. Mainly because I just enjoy learning from the past in order to have a better outlook on the future. I also just enjoy classes better when I'm in them with a couple of my friends. It just gives off a good positive vibe for that class. 

After I graduate I plan on serving a two year mission for my church( I have no clue where yet). After that I'd like to go to a four year college around the Kansas City area to be closer to family. After I graduate college I want to go to dental school to learn to be a dentist, orthodontist, or oral surgeon. My main goal is to just be successful and be able to provide for my family well.

In my free time I swim, cook, and go to work. I live on the lake so I’m always on my patio engulfing in the sunlight. My mom bought Kayaks a few months ago and that’s been a fun activity that my family has engaged in. My family owns the Via Roma restaurant down by the neighborhood Walmart so they’ve inspired my cooking hobby. My favorite dish to make is Penne, it’s an italian alfredo pasta. 

I work at Escape Hot Springs downtown. I think it’s a really fun job for a teenager. An escape room is a game where a team of players discover clues, solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks in one or more rooms in order to progress and accomplish a specific goal in a limited amount of time. I like thinking outside the box and when I had to run these rooms for practice, there was so much adrenaline and dopamine flowing through me. All of my friends enjoy the game also. 

My job is also located in one of my favorite places, Downtown Hot Springs. It is so rich in history and beautiful architecture, it’s just so uplifting to be around. I think of it as the heart of Hot Springs. Another hobby I really enjoy is shoe collecting. Since 7th grade I’ve been able to get my hands on valuable rare Jordans and I resell them. Other than that I really look forward to this school year given the circumstances we’ve been put in. 

I don’t have any types of jobs due to always traveling and football. I plan on making it big on football because it’s been a big part of my life, my way of focusing. I like to hang with my family a lot more than friends to be honest because I’m really big on family. My mama lives in Texas for now but she’s one of my bestfriends for sure. She’s the one who really got me to play the sport I didn’t know I had talent in. 

During this summer I didn’t really do much due to this covid but sleep 24/7 and went to football camps. My favorite type of food to eat is Chinese food all the way. I’m big on anime even tho my brother thinks I’m weird for that. My favorite anime is fairy tales & 7 deadly sins because that joint funny. My first anime I’ve ever watched was Blade which I was about 8 at the time. 

I’m 3rd generation African, my grandmas grandma was in a tribe but I forgot that name. I know how to speak Kiswahili, a language from Kenya. My middle name is “ sacario “ which has a traditional meaning to it and my name was originally supposed to be African but it end up not. I would like to travel to Africa to know more about my family’s history. Not much people even know about that and I plan on not talking about it because people tend to push it. I like football but I love soccer more than that because of how much passion players have with they play. 

I have one brother and he is in the eighth grade. He is thirteen and loves to do a lot of activities just like me. We normally play sports together or just hang out with one another if we're not with our friends or playing in a tournament somewhere. 

I started playing sports when I was very little about when I was four or five at the YMCA. My first sport I played was basketball then when I was five I played football. I started playing baseball at the boys and girls club when I was twelve and soccer when I was thirteen. Football is my main sport mainly because I like it the most but also because I’m better at it. I play football and baseball for Lakeside High School now and I’m going into junior year. I play quarterback and linebacker in football and I play pitcher and first base in baseball.

I learned to play sports mainly from my dad and watching youtube. Kinda funny but youtube really helps. I love to laugh a lot though and just have fun mainly. I go to Crossgate church and I like to just go throw at the field and hang with friends for my free time. I want to go to a D1 college for sports but that’s kinda hard to do, but I’m willing to work for that. I look forward to getting this year over with and get back to normal.

 I grew up going to Lake Hamilton my whole life till the end of my sophomore year and now I am attending Lakeside, and I really enjoy it here and I will proceed staying and continuing all through Lakeside. At first when I moved here I really didn’t like it. But now, I wish I would have come here earlier. The people, the environment, the academics, and the sports really satisfy my wants in a school environment.

I have 2 older brothers and ones 27 and ones 29. When I moved I had to live with my uncle and aunt and they have 4 kids, 2 daughters and 2 sons. My uncle is a navy veteran and he is a somewhat strict person, but in the end he seems to be a very nice guy. My aunt works at the Lakeside middle school as a science teacher. 

So that is a little something about me. I know it’s not a lot, but in the meantime y’all will get to know me better during this school year. I hope y’all have a good year this year hopefully, and I know I will knowing that I am a ram.
