This lesson focuses on the science practice of structure and function. When scientists discuss the structure and function of an object, they ask themselves - what are it's parts and what do those parts do? In this lesson we will ask ourselves - Why do our skeletons have so many bones?
This was the lesson we were last working on before we were separated by the quarantine. We had watched and discussed the video and some of you had even begun to outline your hand for the activity. I've done this activity in the past with former students. It's one of my favorite and I really wanted you to be able to complete it from home. Go ahead and review the video lesson in Step #1, then gather the materials to complete the X-ray hand activity. It's pretty spectacular and will look great hanging in a window from your home.
