Students will learn about gardening but we will also do story times and picnics in the garden as well. We have partnered with local farmers.

It provides positive relationship building and comfort. I think the Holdsworth approach could easily be applied here were everyone has a coach because sometimes mentors just do not know where to start or how to be effective.

I offer a monthly parent engagement for all my Prek students (Dual and English) I first find dates then correlate them with what we are focusing on in class. I invite my head Start specialist to come on these days to do the content she needs to cover and then we do a hands on activity where I show them what we are learning and how the activity works and then let them "make" their own to take home! There are times ALOT come and some times there is just a little! But handing out the dates at the beginning of the year helps them put them in their calendars
