Caregiving causes caregivers stress due to emotional and physical strain. Stress levels are much higher among caregivers than among non-caregivers. A majority of caregivers provide assistance or are "on call" almost 24 hours a day. In some cases, this results in little time to spend with family members or friends or to work.
