This article talks about the different variables involved with censorship in education. They also talk about keeping children pure, however, this is the only setting where they can learn things about real life.

This article gives us percentages of the banned books, saying how many were because of organization, and facts about the banned books. The article tells us that "96 percent of the bans did not follow the best practice guidelines for book challenges... 41 percent of the banned titles explicitly address LGBTQ themes... 21 percent directly address race and racism... 40 percent feature major characters of color...[and] 22 percent have sexual themes... organizations are compiling lists of books, without necessarily reading or even looking at them." As we can see, most of these books seem like they have been targeted. Furthermore, these organizations don't even read the books they advocate banning.
