Shield Surfing

Sometimes, you need to get downhill fast. In these situations, there is no better technique than Shield Surfing.
While moving forward, press ZL, then press X to jump. When you are in the air, press A and you will begin Shield Surfing. Now, just use your left analog stick to steer as you glide downhill. Just keep in mind that this will knock some durability off your shield, so only use expensive shields (such as the royal shield) you have lots of them.

Perfect Guard

If you've been to the Ta'loh Naeg Shrine near Kakariko village, then you most likely know this tip already. To perform a Perfect Guard (otherwise known as parrying), press ZL to raise your shield. Then, right before the enemy strikes, press A. If timed right, it will deflect the blow and give you a few seconds to get some hits in, or it will send the object back where it came from if it is a non-arrow projectile. This works great against Guardians, and best of all, it doesn't wear down the durability of your shield!

Like Perfect Guard, this technique is taught in the Ta'loh Naeg Shrine near Kakariko Village. This technique is almost crucial for lots of fights, especially against lynels or tests of strength. To pull this off, press ZL to focus on the enemy. Then, when the enemy is about to strike, push the left analog stick to either side or backwards, depending on what angle the attack is coming from, and press X. If you've done this right, time will slow down and you will be given the chance to do a Flurry Rush. Now just spam the Y button to attack to your heart's content!

Once you have finished the quest "Locked Mementos", you can upgrade your runes and Sheikah Sensor for small amounts of ancient parts. As soon as you can, upgrade your Stasis rune with three ancient cores. This will allow you to stop time not just for objects, but now for monsters. This will become a great tool to have , so use it often (especially on bokoblins while they are on horseback).

Farming Dragon Parts

In the game, there are three springs, each representing one part of the Triforce: the Spring of Power, he Spring of Courage, and the Spring of Wisdom. Also, there are three dragons- Dinraal, Farosh, and Naydra. Once you offer a dragon scale to the associated spring (Farosh-Courage, Naydra-Wisdom, Dinraal-Power), you can find the dragons flying around in predictable locations once per in-game day. Dinraal flies around the huge trench north of the Eldin Region (The Eldin Great Skeleton is a good place to find him), Naydra hangs near the East Lanayru Gate (near the location of one of the memories), and Farosh can be seen passing under the bridge nezt to Lakeside Stable. Simply head to these spots, set up a campfire, and shoot the dragon with an arrow when it flies near. You should see the dragon part (scale, horn shard, claw, or fang shard) soar to a random location in the general area, where you can go and pick it up.

Sprint Without Stamina

A small-known but very helpful tip, this involves whistling while sprinting. To do this, push the left analog stick forward, hold the down arrow, and spam the B button. This will result in an animation where you move at sprinting speed without using any stamina. Keep in mind that it will alert nearby monsters, so be careful around enemy camps (Unless you're wearing a monster mask from Kilton).

In Breath of the Wild, you can actually buy your own house in Hateno Village. A man named Bolson usually charges 50,000 rupeees, but he only charges you 3,000 instead if you bring him 30 bundles of wood. Once this price is paid, you can pay Bolson to add things to your house, such as a bed, lighting, plants, and weapon displays, for the price of 100 rupees per upgrade.

From the Ground Up

After you've bought your house (see Hylian Homeowner), talk to one of the construction workers named Hudson. He will tell you that Bolson Counstruction is expanding big-time, and is beginning work in Akkala. After you watch him head off, either fast travel to the Dah Hesho shrine or travel to the shrine on foot. Once there, you will see a small island-like geographic structure with a small strip of land connecting it to the rest of the hill. Paraglide down, and you will find Hudson digging up rocks. He tells you that he is building a town from scratch and decides to call it Tarrey Town. If you agree to help him, he will ask for ten bundles of wood. When you make the delivery, Hudson will ask you to fetch a Goron or two, for their brute strength would help clearing out land go a lot quicker. This will repeat for a while, where you bring Hudson wood, and then get people to live in the town if their names end in "son" (in accordance with the Bolson Construction Company Guidelines). This will span across the Rito, Gerudo, Zora, and Gorons. Once you have finished building Tarrey Town, it will become a key location for buying arrows, and you can also buy the Desert Voe set if you haven't yet. You could also buy ores there, but that's kind of a waste of money unless you're desperate for diamonds. All in all, it's a fun side quest that is really fun to complete.

The Champion's Arms are the weapons that the Champions of old used- Urbosa's Scimitar of the Seven and Daybreaker Shield, Daruk's Boulder Breaker, Mipha's Lightscale Trident, and Revali's Great Eagle Bow. You can claim these powerful weapons after defeating the Divine Beast tied to their wielders. If they break, you can talk to certain people- Buliara, Harth, Dento, and Rohan- and they will rebuild it if you give them the materials. Note that this doesn't include the Ceremonial Trident found near Zora's Domain, though you can still repair it if you give Dento the materials.

In Breath of the Wild, there are a load of easter eggs and references to other games, and not just those in the Legend of Zelda franchise. A side quest called [Xenoblade Chronicles II] (the brackets are in the name) asks you to claim three peices of armor to from the Salvager Set, which looks like Rex from- you guessed it- Xenoblade Chronicles II. This set helps you swim faster and use less stamina to swim dash, which can be very helpful. Also, the first memory calls out Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess.
