Starr talked about what had happened during the incident when Khail was killed. The police department was at the Williamson, so she tried to acted differently when talking. For example, word choice and proper language. The two detectives kept asking her questions, but it was like they were trying to prove that Khail was a drug dealer. Starr didn't understand why they were asking about drugs. It seemed like he was dead because of it. Starr quickly changed and left the place. We know that Starr was a "ghetto" and they were the "Williamson," but they didn't need to do it like this. Saying and thinking that the "ghettos", in this case Khail, had deserved it, and the police had the right to shoot Khail. Starr was mad. "You keep asking her about Khail, like he's the reason he's dead. Like she said, she didn't pull the trigger on himself."

An interesting topic in the book was about the Williamson and the Ghettos. The Williamson are mostly white and the Ghettos are mostly black. Through this topic, I learned that the whites an blacks did not get along very well at this time. Even though there were few whites and blacks on both sides, the relationship of them were not as close as the relationships that they had with the same race. I'm still wondering about, if people didn't get along with a different race than them, why were they living near them. This topic has impacted the story because Starr was at a school that was in the Williamson. But she lived in the Ghettos. With the incident with Khail, Starr knows that he didn't do anything wrong, but the Williamson think that he had done something.

The author did a great job of making suspense in the book. For example, when Starr was speaking up in a dangerous situation and when she was trying to escape, created a lot of suspense. The author uses strong word choices and dialogue in this story. In this book, the author uses a lot of flashbacks of the event where Khail had died.

I learned to always tell the truth to the people I trust and believes in me. In this book it tells the whole media about the truth too, but I don't need to tell the truth to the people I don't know. I'm still wondering about this topic if there is several ways to come out of your secret zone and be able to tell what has been happening. This topic impacted the story by Genevieve lying to everyone and later overcoming the big step by talking to people and telling the truth.

I like the setting of the book that the author chose so far. I don't like how the process of the book is a little slow. I think the author could've picked up the pace of the story. I recommend this book to people worried about the same idea as the characters in the book because I think they'll have the same idea with the characters. And the characters will later show the results of what happened to them and what might happened to them if they keep on thinking about the same thing.
