Three Easy Diet Changes for Weight Loss

Between 2014 and 2015, Carlton Griggs worked as a certified sales consultant for Wayne Mazda in Wayne, New Jersey. There, he cultivated relationships with customers and negotiated deals to increase sales. Outside of work, Carlton Griggs has seen success in the gym, losing over 60 pounds through various cardio and weightlifting exercises.

Though exercise is vastly important when it comes to weight loss, another key aspect is diet. If shedding pounds is your goal, these three easy diet changes will help supplement your exercise routine and burn fat faster.

1. Eat more vegetables - One of your first orders of business in your weight loss journey should be finding vegetables you love. With their numerous health benefits and generally low impact on your weight, you can pile the veggies high with nearly every meal to fill yourself up.

2. Cut out soda - When it comes to weight loss, soda is your enemy. Common weight loss wisdom says, “do not drink your calories,” and soda is full of calories. Even diet soda is a no-go, as studies have found that the artificial sweeteners they contain may actually increase your appetite.

3. Eat more protein - Whether you get your protein from meat, beans, tofu, or another source, eat more of it. Studies show that eating more protein helps you feel less hungry. Experts suggest making lean protein a third of every meal. Protein-filled snacks can also help stave off cravings for sweeter foods while filling your desire to munch.

Fishing for Atlantic Cod

An outdoorsman, Carlton Griggs often pursues saltwater fishing off the coast of Atlantic City. On his fishing trips, Carlton Griggs tries to catch cod and other fish that reside in the area’s rock jetties.

The Atlantic cod is a cold-temperature, bottom-dwelling fish found in salty or brackish water. In the wild, the fish can live up to 25 years and can grow very large, with the heaviest documented specimen weighing in at over 210 pounds.

Fishers looking to catch cod close to the shore will likely have the best luck during the winter, when other species migrate from the shore in search of warmer waters. It’s best to rely on fresh bait like white rag worm, squid, and peeler crab.

Moreover, if the cod don’t seem to be biting with one type of bait, don’t let the bait sit in the water for more than 20 minutes. Instead, reel in the line and replace the old bait with fresh bait.

Since cod often hunt in shallow areas, cod fishers can look for white water around rocky parts of the shore. It is also wise to cast lines into muddy waters, as cod tend to avoid the clearer waters.

An experienced professional in the automobile industry, Carlton Griggs formerly served as a certified sales consultant at Wayne Mazda, located in Wayne, New Jersey. Away from his business pursuits, Carlton Griggs enjoys attending football games and his favorite NFL team is the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Philadelphia Eagles roster has seen a considerable amount of activity in the 2017 offseason. Led by Coach Pederson and upper management, the franchise has added multiple key players to bolster the defensive and offensive squads, particularly in the roles surrounding quarterback Carson Wentz.

Philadelphia opened the free agency period by acquiring wide receivers Torrey Smith and Alshon Jeffery, followed by Chance Warmack, who will play the guard position. After a favorable coin toss, the Eagles gained the 14th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft, and with that option, the team selected Derek Barnett, a highly touted defensive end from the University of Tennessee.

These additions, along with several others, have led Wentz and league analysts to believe that the team can contend for a playoff position in the upcoming season. Philadelphia will face the 10th most difficult schedule in the NFL, and early predictions place the team at an 8-8 finish.
