I learned so much about Frederick Douglas and how resilient he was. I loved the amount of determination he had and how he was never done fighting for people's rights. All the up until the last day of his life, he felt as though he could do one more thing. I think that's a mindset I will be taking away from this trip. Another lesson I'll take away is to not let fear stop you, Frederick Douglas always had people targeting him but he didn't let it stop the work he was doing g and the causes he fought for.

Visting Frederick Douglas's home was one of my favorite sites that we went to. I was shocked at how well kept and preserved the house was. I had to keep reminding myself that dozens of influential people had walked where I was walking. The tour guide for my group was amazing and kept reminding me that Frederick Douglas was able to make a lot of change becuase of his wife Anna Marie who risked her life as a free women to get Frederick Douglas out of slavery. Often times women are left out of the picture when in reality they played key roles in history. This was a reminder to me, to always think about the people who aided in other people's success.
