Mrs. Adele Lewis is a 77-year-old Caucasian who is admitted to the medical-surgical unit after a bowel resection secondary to colon cancer. Mrs. Lewis’ husband passed away last year; thus Mrs. Lewis’ son is taking care of her while she’s hospitalized. Monty is the nursing student assigned to Mrs. Lewis. He has already taken her vital signs: temperature 98.7° F; blood pressure 152/82 mm Hg; pulse 88 beats/min and regular; and respirations 18 breaths/min, shallow, on room air. Monty is now checking the medication administration record (MAR) to see which medications Mrs. Lewis has ordered. ***Click on the comment section under each question to give your answers***
