Open IDEO is an online platform that works as a community for collective design thinking. On a global scale, people can work together to create solutions and concepts for problems that ‘sponsors’ upload. A challenge is divided into three fases. The first one is the inspiration fase. Then follows a concreting fase, where participants can post concepts so that other people can build on it. Collaborating is what makes the magic happen. The last fase is an evaluation fase, where concepts will be rated and commented on. The winning idea will be developed by the sponsor. Participating is good for your Design Quotient, which you can publish or keep private. 

Starting with asking questions and inspiring one another how to find the solution to the problem. In the concepting phase everyone will show each other their own idea to the solution. Thereafter everyone will give feedback and inspire for more ideas. So it is more like a collaboration. The last phase, the evaluation phase, everyone will rate the ideas of one another. In the end the best solution will win. 

The ideals of the company Ideo is doing and solving problems together. They stretch out several phases, to be precisely three. In those three phases, you will start with the inspiration phase. Open IDEO is an online global platform were creative minds work together in three phases to solve big questions. 

In the first phase, the Inspiration phase, the participating members research the subject and post preferably visual groundwork. 

In the second phase, the Concepting phase, the participating members post possible solutions to the problem onto the platform. In this phase, it is essential to work together and build on each other’s ideas. 

In the last phase, the evaluation phase, everyone rates the concepts. Resulting in a winning idea that will become available for the client who introduced the ‘big question’. 

Every member of the Open IDEO platform will gain points for a Design Quotient, that gives an indication of the skill and profession of the member. Resulting in insight for new teams and personal development.
