1. What was your biggest struggle as a first year teacher? Why? If you are not a teacher yet, what do you think is going to be one of your greatest challenges? Why?

2. If you could tell your first year teacher self one thing what would it be? If you are not a teacher yet, what is one reason you are becoming a teacher.

1. My biggest struggle as a first year teacher was classroom management. My class was consistently a 3 ring circus between my students doing labs, collaborating in groups, and differentiating instruction.
2. If I could tell my first year teacher self one thing it would be this: WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER!

1. My biggest struggle as a first year teacher, was unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic! Distance learning was quite the way to enter into the world of teaching. Creating a virtual environment, creating assessments, and feeling a sense of community with my school was very difficult.
2. If I were to tell myself one thing (even though I am still a first year teacher) it would be TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS!

1. I am a credential student at CSUF but before the program I was a PE teacher during this crazy time. The biggest struggle under that position was having students participate in some form of physical activity from home. I think the biggest challenge in my first year of science teaching will ensuring that students are engaged and understanding the scientific material at play
2. I am becoming a teacher to help shape our future generations and ensure they are scientifically literate. And I also love working with kids and hanging out with them, at least so far.
