The case of Tennessee v. Garner 1985 supports this as danger doesn’t have to be prominent in order to use Letha force in the united states. The video evidence also did not display what Castile was reaching for as-well. Not whether racism continues to exists or whether police training is ineffective.

The US law doesnt follow the laws made by the UN (whos laws say that lethal force should be a last resort and only if the officers life is in danger). The US laws dont really have a way to measure if their officers lives are in danger, the officers just need a suspicion of there being a threat to their lives. Also, the US doesnt really have fixed pattern to how they escalate situations, for some instances they will just use police to deal with possible law breaking activity, but for other circumstances they will bring out the military which is even more dangerous. Derek pressed his knee against Floyds neck as Floyd clearly stated repeatedly he cannot breathe with many witnesses present. Moreover, Derek has been charged with second and third degree murder and manslaughter. With the rest of his colleagues charged with aiding and abetting second degree murder and manslaughter. Moreover, the law justifies their actions even if there was no evidence of real danger. In contrast the international law allows the use of lethal force only when it is unavoidable. Also, international law requires police officers to provide immediate medical aid after, however from the video of Philando Castile we can see that no help was provided.
