It is important that whoever is trying to help the student in their struggling subject knows how to approach the situation. It is good to have the students ask themselves questions to make them think and check their progress.

Knowing how to tutor is a skill. It is something that needs to be practiced and mastered because you will come across many different students that need the same help. This videos first and last 2 tips were best. When tutoring in math you need to know what kind of math you can tutor, you need to be committed to tutor, and you need to prepare ahead of time. Having a refresher for yourself and knowing what you'll be going would be best so the session goes smoothly.

How I Tutor in Math

Whenever I tutor in math I am sure that I am confident in the type that the student needs help with. For example I wouldn't tell a friend I can help with the unit circle if all of my quizzes have been lower the a 2. After making sure I can do the math with my eyes closed I give the student a chance to show me how much they can do and help them if there is a slip up. After fixing minor mistake and having a few more examples their good to go
