One thing I found cool from the MSU Library Guide is that on the supply chain page they have a list of supply chain career sources that can help you find tailored jobs to that specific part of SCM. From the candid career one thing that shocked me was how at least when your a entry level consultant you kind of do a little bit of everything, there isn't sort of only one kind of role you play. From the What Can I Do With This Major resource I was shocked to see how much detail they went into for each side of supply chain and all the kinds of tasks most people do in that side of it. I also loved how it lists strategies to kind of help yourself to eventually get jobs in this field. Overall another thing I found on the Career Services website is that they literally take you step by step through every single thing you need to apply for jobs. They show you how to build a Broad Resume, make your cover letter, network through LinkedIn, etc.

Section C: Interview

I think the most interesting thing from the interview was that she at first came into college being a marketing major. Like me she also went through multiple interviews with upperclassmen to get insight into what she would want to possibly major in. After going through these interviews she realized that SCM was something that was more fit for her and changed her major. Through the interviews she did she realized a lot of things about the marketing career that she didn't think of before hearing that interview. I think the most helpful was just hearing how she kind of took each year of college to her advantage and seeing her path. Seeing how she networked and using the exact steps she took will definitely help to my advantage. I think the most surprising thing was just how much networking she had to do. Networking was like 70 percent of how she gained all of her connections which landed her all these internships and now a full-time offer post grad. Now post this interview I will using my connections more intentionally so when I'm looking for internships I can name drop these people I've networked with to gain an actual offer after interviews for these top firms.

One of the concepts from class that I can link to is how we see the world and interact with it. In my major and potential career field it is really a people-person sort of job. In the career you are consistently in communication with other people seeking guidance or collaborating. There is no time in this job where you are individualistic in a way. Even when searching for jobs I always say that most of the work you have to do is through networking and building those connections

The role AI plays in my career field is actually very different than what most fields feel. For supply chain AI, actually adds on to our workload not shorten it. Obviously it depends on the task and what company/firm you are at it but for most it adds on to their daily work.

Throughout this project I've realized that consulting is definitely the path that I want to work towards and there are a lot of resources on campus that help with that. Honestly consulting just always seemed like the right fit for me out of all the different avenues. You are able to explore a lot within it and while you are working for a firm, a lot of firms have clients that work in all avenues so you can explore healthcare, automotive, fashion, government, etc. You aren't limited to one thing at least in the beginning, if anything you are pushed to explore what your niche is which I love.
