The war has begun. The North Korean army has invaded the South. My name is Gyeong-gu, My husband Kang-min left to fight, and I am here with our children Ga-young and Ga-eul, scared for all of us. The fighting is close, and we can hear gunfire and explosions every day. We have to leave our home and hide in the mountains to stay safe. It is hard, but we must survive.

The war is over, but the damage is terrible. The fighting stopped with an armistice, but we are divided into North and South Korea. My husband returned, but he is not the same. Many people died, and we lost our home. We are starting over, but it will take time to rebuild our lives.
