Social media is currently the opitomay of networking. Linking with friends, strangers, colleges and the such like, we are able to upload and share data and information.

This is a platform tha artists have taken to through websites, twitter, facebook, instagram for the view to giv their wares a platform, a way of diaplay and getting yourself known.

Artists like ‘Young Aunties’ Nakkiah Lui, Shari L Sebbens, Darcie, Liv Wynter, Frances Cannon and bigdumbpissbaby have all used social media in various ways to hold collectivves together or creating a scene around your artist presence.

SLIDE EIGHT/// molly sauter destroys any power she believes others have,she wants to takethem down and do what saide plant descrbes the internet place to be.

Janette parris doesnt even have a website or much self consructed internet presemce, and shes doing fine, so why bother?

SLIDE NINE liv winyter

I chose this image for Liv Wynter. Wynter spoke about when she became ‘FAMOUS’. The DONT FLOP video got released and suddenly she had a very active presence on the internet. She has never put a video on youtube, yet there are pages and pages of her videos. 

After her fame from DONT FLOP decreased. She wanted to claim back her ownership over her own image. So she created a website that was just a document of the event, which consisted of 30 performances done in exchange for money or art works, over skype. A one to one performance, which was never filmed or photographed.

I chose this image because i wanted to show her as this is her presence she constructs as opposed to a presence created by others.

SLIDE TEN/// MEGAN NOLAN HAS BUILT HER CAREER FROM SICAL MEDIA AND HER WORK/LIFE IS ALL ONE, WHICH IS DISPLAYED THRUGH SOCIAL MEDIA.

WE ARE GOING THROUGH A PERIOD WHERE WE ARE ALL REVEALING AND SHOVING IT ON A SCREEN.

Spoke to a young chap, and he said Marc Chaimowicz was having lunch with the director. I waited a while, but he never turned up, so i wrote him a letter. The other thing is that i have then since found this young chap on facebook, should i message him? I spoke to him about his new tattoo, maybe i should do that? hmm?

HOW CAN I MAKE THIS RELEVANT? HOW CAN I TURN THIS INTO SOMETHING? IM TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION WITH AN ARTIST I AM SWAPPING SOME WORK WITH, THAT WE BOTH INCLUDE EACH OTHER IN A SHOW WE DO IN THE NEXT YEAR, WITH CREDIT.

Thoughts:

Which does alleviate my stress towards obtaining networks and allows me to focus.

But will number 2 ever be successful? Will i always be seen as a underling?

And maybe at the moment i am being myself, and no giving a fuck, but i am understangin that, and them makes me self concious and is that ontrived.

Kippenberger said he had t empty himself before he ould take on the performtive role of himslf?

But i wanna be like happy and free and not ontrived...because i wnnan enjy stuff and not enjoy thing too much so that they become a problem. SELBSTDARSTELLER

What else can i do apart from try and kiss ass, kick ass and cause a fuss?

Social media can just be there to document ad so i can accost people, i guess i can find stuff out about what they are doing so i can use it to my advantage.
