Elie is very religious but his dad is not. Elie wants to learn more about his religion but his dad tells him that learning about the religion isn't really important and he isn't allowed.
quote: "Your too young for that. Maimonides said it was only at thirty that one had the right to venture into the perlious world of mysticism. You must first study the basic sucjects within your own understanding."

In chapter 2 it doesn't speifcally say anything about his religion because it is mostly about the lady losing her mind and them arriving at the concentration camps.
quote: "She's mad, poor soul . . ."

In chapter 3 the story uses the Kaddish to show Elie's relationship with religion. The Kaddish shows that the people are tryingt to mourn themselves because they think they are going to die.
Quote: "I was to face to face with the Angel of Death."

In chapter 4 the story the story uses the hanging of the little boy to show how Elie is starting to believe in his god again. I think this because of the way Elie answer's when the man is calling out "Where is God?'. I think Elie will start back trusting in his god and believing in him again.
Quote: "Where is He? Here He is- He is hanging here on this + gallows."

In chapter 5 Elie still isn't believing or trusting in God. He thinks it is because of God that they are in the camps. At this point I don't think Elie will trust in his god again. A quote from the story "Night" states, "Why should I bless Him? In every fiber I rebelled."

In chapter 6 it doesn't really say anything about Elie's religion. In the story Elie and his dad are struggling to stay awake because they know they will die if they go to sleep. Evidence from the story "Night" states, "I got up, gritting my teeth. SUpporting me with his arm, he lead me outside."

At this point Elie doesn't belive in God anymore. Also when his dad dies he doesn't even feel anything. Elie doesn't even mention God in chapters 7-9. Evidence from the story "Night" states, "I did nor weep, and it pained me that I could not weep."
