تم اختراق خط بارليف فى أقل من ساعتين، بسبب عنصر المفاجأة وبمساعدة سلاح بسيط جدًا لم يكن فى الحسبان وهو الماء، حيث استطاع المصريون، بناء على اقتراح اللواء باقى زكى، وباستخدام مضخة ماء هدم 1500 متر مكعب من الرمال فى غضون ساعتين، مما أسفر عن حدوث 81 ثغرة فى الخط، وفتح المجال أمام القوات المصرية للعبور من خلاله.
وبحسب خبراء عسكريين، أكدوا أن خط بارليف واحد من أكبر الحصون العسكرية الدفاعية فى تاريخ المعارك العسكرية بشكل عام، لافتين إلى أن ما حققه الجيش المصرى يعتبر معجزة بكل المقاييس، وإضافة كبيرة فى سجل العسكرية المصرية المجيد.

    واستطاعوا تحطيم أكبر خط دفاع (خط بارليف) وكانت هذه مهمه الجيش المصري . 
    . وتم أختراق خط بارليف بخراطيم المياه في 6 ساعات ،
    ونجحت القوات المصرية في عبور قناة السويس إلى الضفة الشرقية .
