This image is a photo that was taken of a lady back in the 1800's. She is wearing a long corset gown, with her hair up in a curly hair style. Back in the 1800's if you look at photos of any women and men they never smile, they were very serious that always sat up straight.

Make up back in those days were created for actors and models. For those who did wear it hid it from most people. Later on in the 1800's makeup was more normalized and woman wore it but still made the makeup a natural look so it didn't look 'piled on' or 'painted faces' as they would say. The women's cheeks were always rosy looking, red lipstick, and a little bit of mascara to make the eyes 'pop'.

If you were at a restaurant woman were not aloud to walk around and look at the art is was considered 'rude'. If someone was telling a story you were not aloud to say "you see" or "you know". When men shook hands it had to be their right hand and must have been a good firm hand shake if it wasn't a firm hand shake they were considered rude and snobby. A hyper and confident person was encouraged to marry someone who was quiet and shy.
