In the declaration they stated that all people should have quality,  rights, liberty, oppertunity, and democracy. So with the ideals being some of the ideas which our country is practically  based on . This  makes you think have Americans lived up to the ideals stated in the decleration of independence. Opportunity is were people are promised a chance to attain their hopes and dreams. I think this because according to placard A,  people from England came to America because they wanted to escape Englands rule for varius reasons such as religous freedom, escape from debt, and for wealth and power. This shows oppertunity because the people came to America to achieve their hopes and dreams. Another example of oppertunity in America can be found in placard J,because in WW2 many jobs were created allowing people to make money allowing people to achieve their dreams. If you dont believe me here is the evidence. According to placard Q ,Ronald Reagan reduced taxes and encouraged people to take responsibility and take action. This is pretty much putting the power in the people. which is democracy. Another exampleof this is, according to placard P, the government placed the power in the people so that the government could undergo major changes and endure any challnge or setback. There are many examples of this. According to placard F, some people thought that America should expand and others thought that America was big enough already. This shows liberty becuase all though people had different view points. Niether side was punished for thinking the way they wanted. Another peice of evidence is according to placard O, people had divided P.O.V. on communism and the vietnam war. They lived up to the ideals because every one could act and think the way they wanted, the American people have had power placed in their hands, and every one has a chance to acomplish their hopes and dreams.
And personaly I have the opertunity to become what ever I want. I also am able to think and act in a way I feel is right. And at last I feel I am treated equaly. For example when I go out in public and am waiting in line some random guy wont get better treatment then me just for being a certain skin color.
