Also it takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup, I chose this fact because 40 gallons of sap equals 1 gallon of syrup. A third fact is Maple Syrup is collected in the early spring when the snow is still on the ground , I chose this fact because I thought it was cool that the sap got hard and got thinner as it got cold. Also In sugar maple trees their is 98% water and 2% sugar, I chose this fact because if something is called Sugar Maple tree you would think there would be a lot more sugar then water.
