This sketch was created using a crayon pencil. I used 3 different shades black, brown and white. I really like the way the colours complemented each other and I liked the pencils as they gave off more pigment and were thicker which I think looks better as it was on larger paper.

Here is my final sculpture it includes different levels of relief. This design came from my development of the way a leaf curls and bend. I am really happy with how it turned out as i enjoyed the process of making the sculpture. I was able to achieve the desired image.

I enjoy using charcoal as you can smudge it with ur fingers without it looking dirty. I think it’s a good way to show the ripples in the body. I also like how dark it is against the white cartridge paper.

This time using polystyrene I made many different levels of low relief. From the development sheet below I picked a close up of a leaf and worked from that. I used a hot wire to cut squares of polystyrene into the desired shape.

This is where I started my development for the above plaster sculpture. I began by drawing from a twig that still had leaves on it. From there I replicated it in a larger scale. I then began to use a frame and look at small sections of my drawings. Then I went on to produce the plaster sculpture above.

Here I began experimenting with fabric such as denim. My goal of the project was to ultimately make a invitation for the exhibition. I used pva glue to stick the fabric down. Using pva glue worked better on the left hand side experiment because the fabric was thinner and it was easier to shape on the paper, in comparison to the denim which the glue didn’t hold well as the material was thicker and absorbed more of it.

I tried out a few experiments using different materials. One experiment was to get a small piece of cardboard and newspaper then using glue create a 3D base, which was then covered in mod rock and painted over.
I also decided to try kitchen roll which i pleated lots of and stuck to a piece of cardboard and I set that with gesso. These experiments were to lead me to a final piece decision.

These are two of my prints from mono printing. I used a sheet of perspex and multiple pieces of fabric and paper such as wallpaper and cut them to the desired shape. I enjoyed this technique and took it into further prints and I felt it gave them a unique twist when they became quite repetitive.

This is my risograph I made using images I found in books in the library. I then placed them In a composition I liked and then grouped them together in colour groups as the printer prints the images in one colour at a time.
On these particular risographs I finished it off with some mono printing where I found images to layer over my prints.

This was a mix media style piece. I began by sketching the woman and using pva glue to stick tissue paper onto the drawing. I also used Indian ink and water to create it. I also enjoyed the texture this gave with the ink as the ink dries very fast. therefore using the almost dry brush with the crinkled tissue paper added to the models body and creates nice light shadows.

This is some of my research for a exhibition called undressed - the history of underwear. It shows fashion of underwear through the centuries such as corsets, and cage crinoline which was a structure used to keep their skirts framed.

This was one of my early sketches where we had to draw the model who was moving around the room and capture their movement as they posed for 10 seconds at a time. I enjoy looking back at these because of how expressive they are and because i can see the movement in the drawing.
