Greek Civil War/ Truman Doctrine

The Greek Civil War was fought between a group of Greek communist and the government of Greece, creating a civil war. The group of greek communist were trying to overrule the government of Greece, they were given financial aid from Stalin's Soviet Union. However, President Harry Truman issued the Truman Doctrine which asked for the U.S assistance to financial support them in their fight.

Marshall Plan

Berlin was split into two halves, West Berlin was placed under control of the U.S and East Berlin was placed under control of the USSR. Many people left East Berlin to go to the West which made Stalin feel embarrassed and cause him to create a wall so people wouldn't escape to go to West Berlin.
