Student is painting with their right hand. Students used both hands to create a butterfly. They painted a butterfly outside. The student used 3 colors on the entire painting. The student painted birds at the top of the page and grass at the bottom of the page.

I would integrate a science activity into small groups or individualized learning. We can discuss the picture and then discuss the basic needs of a butterfly as well as the life cycle of a butterfly.

Standard CD-SC3 - The child will demonstrate knowledge related to living things and their environments.

Student is kneeling near a table. The student has a basket of multicultural dolls. The student is taking the dolls from the basket and standing them up. The student is picking a different doll out of the basket every time they choose a doll.

To integrate math into the curriculum by having the children sort the dolls based on different things while creating a pattern. The first round of sorting would be based on shirt color. The next round of sorting would be based on the gender of the dolls.

StandardCD-MA4 - The child will sort, seriate, classify, and create patterns.
