There are different assessments and depending on your needs and what information you are looking for, different assessments will provide the information you are looking for.

I  think it would be very difficult to do this at a higher level because of the amount of time it would take. I do think that it could be very beneficial for a 6th grade level though if the time was available.

You have to assess their fluency, which can effect their comprehension score. Some students might have bad fluency, but good comprehension, so then you might need to assess their listening comprehension. It's tricky to balance because the assessments can be timely, depending on the student and the assessment task.
