My Word Art for Inclusive Education

I choose this type of symbol in relation to the Inclusive Education. I describe Inclusive Education with these 10 words that I have in my mind; Special, Lovable, Patience, Believer, Trust-issues, Innocent, Support, Dedicated, Attention, and Faithful. The reason why I choose this as my first 10 words that I can utter for Inclusive Education is that it symbolizes as them or the person whose in need of attention. I chooses a sort of a family, but for my own perception this could be an individual, no matter what age does a person in current life, they still came from the day they were born with special needs.
So here are some reasons or the words that I could define why I chooses this. (1) Special, being special is unique, not just for normal people who doesn't have any disability, but for those who came in this world as special as a gift. (2) Lovable, despite of being different, this type of people shows love or passion even though they felt struggles sometimes for being different. (3) Patience, if we all knew, they know how to wait, they show a sign of patience if you know how to handle them. (4) Believer, they tend to believe that they are capable enough as a human to create a wonderful memory despite of the differences of their selves. (5) Trust-issues, we can't blame them for having so much trust issues, maybe because of the bullying they might experience, all we have to do is to embrace them and accept them. (6) Innocent, they're just one of a child who innocently facing the world without even realizing how crucial it is. They are just having their own time while adjusting to their surroundings. (7) Support, I could say that they do really need a support, to give them courage and to give them mostly a time to spent for them,to make them feel valued. (8) Dedicated,they knows how to embrace other people too, they knows why they were continuing to their lives because they are being dedicated for those who appreciates them. (9) Attention, of course a human with special needs, needs an attention, and (10) Faithful, aside for those normal people, this type of persons are very faithful because God gaves them a privilege to seek for life and love here on Earth.

As a future educator, no matter what she/he experiencing in life despite of having an abnormalities to their conditions, I should embrace and guide them ,and make them realize that they are so welcome and highly appreciated because they keep on fighting as an individual.

°I wear my hair the way I do because this makes me feel like for being me as a person. And it depends on my mood when I feel like in a chilling vibes, I don't tie my hair,if irritated,I tied it up, when I'd like to fix if it makes me feel pretty, then I also fix my hair carefully.

°In my family, children are expected to obey the parents rules, do the household chores, and respect the elders.

°I often feel uncomfortable around people who are gossiping about someone's life, and it makes me feel that if ever I'm around to this kind of people, maybe they judge me on my appearance, attitudes, and my background.

°I am proud to be who I am today, and tomorrow. Having myself is more important than losing it by somebody else.

°When I hear people speaking another language, I think they're talking about me, well I should clearly glance at them if they are really having a conversation about me or they're pertaining to somebody or anything that minds only their businesses.

°If I must choose between work and family, I must choose my family, since family is my reason why I shouldn't work. Working without a family was just like a robot accepting the clueless purpose in the World.

°I really feel like an outsider when the people around me didn't show any sign of welcoming me or making me feel out of place.

°The most important thing in life are the love and peace which I usually desired since I was a 4 year-old girl. If I have this, I think life is beautiful.

Things which an inclusive classroom provides for PWD student

Chairs/Tables

"We set together, we learn together"
This is a a type of arrangements of the seats that a PWD could learn together with other normal people. This gave them an opportunity of experiencing this type of classes which it can be considered as a normal doings to learn in a regular classroom environment . This can also motivates them or to be inspired of learning together with other peers, despite of their conditions, this helps them to forget what conditions they have especially if he/she enjoys accompanied by the others.

The Library

"Library is for everyone, learning is no exemption"
For a PWD, they could have a table that levels on their chest or below the chest when they would like to use inside a library or even in the classroom with mini library. This is also very important for those whol loves to read that couldn't stand up like others. This must be implemented each and every classroom, not just for PWD but also for everyone who loves to read either with normal people or with a person with disabilities inside a classroom. There is a chances that it can help build a good relationship towards with PWD and a normal child while sharing each others knowledge in accordance to what they have read together or even in likeness of the book.

Sign Language Chart

"If you want to communicate, there's always a way, learn, think, and apply"
Sign Language Chart in corridor or even in the classroom,for those who can't hear people, or those people who are deaf. This is a PWD-Friendly thing that the school implemented. This helps the normal people and for the deaf to communicate in relation with sign language that has been taught to them. Normal people are tend to learn sign language by the help of the teachers in order for them to talk with deaf people which we basically knows only a sign language. This is also fun because as a normal person, sign language is not easy, but it is very significant for others and for us just to understand and communicate with deaf people.This also shows an appreciation for creating this type of communication for the deaf couldn't feel neglected in the world and to make them feel they are being understood.

Hellen Keller

Hellen Keller (Hellen Adams Keller) who was born on June 27, 1880 at Tuscumbia, Alabama, U.S., and died on June 1, 1968 at Westport, Connecticut. She is an american author and educator who was blind and deaf.Her education and training represents as an extraordinary accomplishment in the education of persons with these disabilities.

Apolinario Mabini

Apolinario Born on July 23, 1864 in Talaga, Tanauan, Batangas. He was the second of eight children of Dionisia Maranan and Inocencio Mabini, both of whom belonged to the impoverished peasantry.On May 13, 1903 Mabini died of cholera in Manila, at the age of 38. Mabini was struck by polio in 1895, and the disease gradually incapacitated him until January 1896, when he finally lost the use of both his legs. Disability struck in the life of Apolinario Mabini when he was in his 30’s at the prime of his life. He did not stop despite of having disabilities, he shows his courage in the midst of revolutionary exigency during his time before. He only uses his mind, soul, and deep patriotism that made him a martyr to the cause of the country’s freedom.

Part II:

The two people that I've choose has a quite different stories why we appreciate them despite of having disabilities. Hellen Keller, an educator and an author who was blind and deaf, she never make her disabilities as a hindrance to continue her journey, instead she find ways and learn slowly as she discovered her ability to learn and achieve what she aimed. While Apolinario Mabini, whom we knew as a known hero in our country, Philippines. Even though he suffered polio in 1895, he also didn't make his disabilities as an excuse, he never showed a loss of hopes, and he never tolerate his disability. He prove and shows couragement to proclaim the freedom of our country. He never fail to show to the people how devoted he is to the country.

I consider this two as an inspiring and a brave decision they have made in their lives. My implications to this as a future Inclusive educator is that, I have to learn and put a full patience and efforts to help those who are in needs when it comes to learning education for those who have disabilities. I know that even though a person feels weak, there is a hidden courage and talent despite of its disabilities. To mirror the situation of Hellen Keller and Apolinario Mabini, I know that someday a person like them would not see only darkness, but a light with full of hopes that are waiting for them to aim someday, and by the help of my skills and my ability to encourage them, then there os no impossible in achieving their dreams someday.

The Blind Kid

1. What can you do to a blind child in your classroom, the same with what the man in the story did.

-As a future educator, I shouldn't just stick to my students own personal belief for his or her life, I must find a different ways that can help them to seek for a wider idea or even imagination that helps them motivates and encourage them to continue in life. Despite of being a blind, I'll support and dig deeper for a reason behind of the student's capabilities which he/she thinks that it is what it meant for him/her. I'll seek for that and make it even more better through inspiring him/her and other young people that they are special and their existence were worth to sprout here on earth.

2.  What is the implication of having a blind child in your inclusive classroom?

-The implication of having a blind child in my classroom are a challenging situation that every students and a teachers must learn how to adjust, to accept and to love this kind of people. We can call them special and it helps me measure my understanding and belief for the blind child. It assures me that even though they are blind, as I knew they'd love to learn despite pf the illnesses, I know for sure that this student trying to put his or her full trust to me as I will help them to gain more learnings and rediscover their skills or talents just like what other children did.

3. What are your ways to cater the needs of these learners with sensory and physical disabilities.

- The ways that I have in my mind in order for me to ushers the learners with sensory and physical disabilities are; Determine first their conditions, start with a friendly talk or communicate with them in accordance to how they communicate with other people, make them feel welcome and open to everyone, learn their capabilities and always encourage and motivates them, lastly, is to determine theur talents which makes them feel shy to show, and help them by supporting or giving them an activities which they think are familiar to them.

Student Behavior:

I choose "Student's rudeness to teachers" as one of the common misbehavior at scchool.

The three main causes and solutions for this kinds of behavior are below:

3 Main causes:

• The children itself doesn't know how to respect base on how their parents taught them at home.
• Being spoiled enough at home.
• Lack of attention, care and love from their family or parents.

3 solutions that might help:

• As a future educator, I'll be patiently tried to understand the behavior of the child to help him or her cope up.
• Teach them a proper lesson, not as being hard but to put fun a little with quite serious aim.
• Played a game with them and tries not to make them triggered, or tell them a life lesson story with a little interesting that could fit their mood.

Winston Churchill

James Earl Jones

Actor James Earl Jones, a Broadway, television and movie star, is well-known for his voice as Darth Vader in Star Wars and his book Voices and Silences. Jones has spoken some of the most memorable lines in the history of American film, but the man known for his voice was once afflicted with a severe stutter.

Raised in Mississippi and later Michigan, Jones was nearly mute for almost eight years of his childhood. “As a small child, I would communicate to my family, or at least those who didn't mind being embarrassed by my stutter or my being embarrassed,” Jones recalled in an interview with The Daily Mail. “I did communicate with the animals quite freely, but then that's calling the hogs, the cows, the chickens. They don't care how you sound, they just want to hear your voice.”

James Earl Jones completely feel how he suffered from his stuttering condition. He never feel wanted just like how animals did. But he was discovered through his poetry.

Jones went on to a career that spans six decades and includes memorable roles on stage and screen. He received the 2008 Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award for his "long and quiet devotion to advancing literacy, the arts and humanities on a national and local scale," said SAG President Alan Rosenberg. In addition, he has won three Emmy Awards, two Tony Awards, and an honorary Academy Award. As his program bio for his appearance in Tennessee Williams’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof read, James Earl Jones “transformed his weakness into his greatest strength.”

Jones also makes me realize that no matter how we tries to kept our condition,this can be seen through our action. We've been comfortable to talk with a circle of friends or even our family, and animals for those who don't mind your condition. But we have hidden talents that we can share, despite of having a different condition, the feeling that you tried yourself, and you never give up, it is more than just achieving to be better and to be excellent. He's a symbol of soaring high for dreams.

Worth Lodriga. The Philippines’ “Little Picasso” and the newest Promil Four Gifted Child.

As the 2018 Ani ng Dangal awardee for Visual Arts, winner of multiple international art contests, and the youngest member of the Philippine Pastel Association and Art Expands, it seems that Worth was also born with a gift.

But if not nurtured, a gift like Worth’s could become a wasted potential.

Spotting the gift

Worth’s mom, Wendy, noticed his interest in art when he was just two years old. As she was teaching him how to read by writing on a whiteboard, she noticed Worth use the marker to draw a human figure instead of a simple stick drawing.

It seemed that his interest in drawing was sparked by people around him – Wendy, an architect; his grandparents, a painter and an art teacher; and his aunts and uncles who all took up Fine Arts.

Wendy began to think it was more than a fleeting interest by the way he would sit for hours focused on his art. She knew it was something she should nurture.

Nurturing the gift

It wasn’t an easy journey. At four, Worth became the target of bullying at school. To help him recover, Wendy stopped working for a year to focus on Worth and even ran for batch PTA president so she could be near him.

Hoping to rebuild her son’s confidence, she encouraged him to join art competitions.

“Worth stopped believing in himself… it takes a lot of courage and strength and prayers for your kid to believe in themselves again. It took a lot of sweat and a lot of love,” said Wendy.

Worth joined and won a number of competitions here and abroad beginning when he was 6 years old. One of these was the Junior Picasso 2016 art competition where he got the moniker “Little Picasso of the Philippines” after winning the 7 Star Artist Award.

That same year, Worth also joined Promil Four’s iShine, a competition which mentored and showcased young children gifted in music, dance, and the visual arts. Worth, representing visual arts, was one of the grand finalists.

“[I tell my boys that] every time you’re gonna join a competition, just laugh it off when you lose. [I ask them] ‘When you play a video game and you lose, what do you do?’ [They tell me] ‘Mom, I press the restart button.’ Competitions are like that as well. When you lose, join again,” she said.

She makes sure to nurture any other interest he has, including baseball and badminton. Wendy recognizes the importance of ensuring that her children’s growth and development are on track to help them reach their potential, especially when it comes to proper nutrition. Worth and her younger son, Wisdom, have always been Promil Four kids.

My Insights:

Worth, his name suits him well. All his efforts as a child and as a courageous one is something very unique and makes me adore him. It is true that it takes a lot of time to build a confidence and courage after being humiliated or destroyed by others, mostly for the children. It is important to be nurtured and to be loved, as well as show your full support.

My Insights:

I can say that Lea is a talented person, she achieved more than one and a known person all over the world. Her talent is no joke. She perform very well, in any way, she sang calmly and with confidence. I can say that she's been handled with care, and she's been love. She inspires so many children and people through her songs or any motivational advice on cam. I adore her for being one of a kind and for being humble. It is true, talents can't be hidden if courage are there to be shown to others.
