Assalamualaikum and hello! For week 1, we have discussed about Adab in Seeking Knowledge and Al-Quran as Book of Guidance.

Before that, we introduced ourselves between usrah members. We shared our names, origins, previous school and our own hobbies we do during leisure time.

First and foremost, we discussed about adab from our own perspective in general. I describe "Adab" is a term of respect and manners. Then, we dive deep into adab in seeking knowledge where it is to being respectful to teachers, lecturers and whoever who teach us something regardless of their background. Besides that, a good intention; we should seek knowledge for the sake of Allah and not because of the exam nor to His creation. If we tend to learn just for the exam then we will not applicate the knowledge in our lives. In general, as we know

“الأدب قبل العلم”

In addition, we talked about Al-Quran as Book of Guidance. We elaborate why Al-Quran is the Book of Guidance. It is because it revealed from Allah and pass to his Prophet P.B.U.H. Plus, Allah S.W.T promised in sūrah Al-Hijir verse 9 (15:9)

“It is certainly We Who have revealed the Reminder, and it is certainly We Who will preserve it.”

Thus, it is the book we must follow without hesitation as stated by Prophet P.B.U.H:

تَركْتُ فِيْكُمْ أَمْرَيْنِ، لَنْ تَضِلُّوْا مَا تَمَسَّكْتُمْ بِهِمَا: كِتَابَ اللَّهِ، وَسُنَّةَ نَبِيِّهِ

“I have left behind two things for you, and if you hold firmly to them, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah (the Quran) and the Sunnah of His Messenger."

In conclusion, as a muslim we must practice adāb in our lives to have a good relationship with our surroundings and follow Al-Quran revealed by Allah without any hesitation for us living our lives peacefully and do not passed the boundaries Al-Quran command us not to.

That's all from me. Thank you!

Assalamualaikum and hello! In week 2, we discussed about The Five Pillars of Islam.

Based on what i've learned, The Five Pillars of Islam are the five basic acts of worship that every Muslim's faith and practice. These pillars guide how Muslims live their relationship with Allah S.W.T.

Shahada ( Faith )

This first pillar is about belief. A Muslim declares with conviction: "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger." This simple statement shapes Muslim's identity. It's not just words - it's a lifelong commitment to live according to God's guidance and follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

As Allah S.W.T mention in (Surah Muhammad, 47;19)

“So know that there is no god except Allah.”

Salah ( Prayer )

Prayer is the second pillar and the heartbeat of a Muslim’s daily life. Muslims pray five times a day – at dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and night. These prayers are moments to pause, disconnect from the world, and reconnect with Allah. It brings peace, discipline, and a sense of purpose. Each prayer starts with washing (wudu'), which symbolizes purity inside and out.

As Allah S.W.T mention in (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:43)

“Establish prayer, give zakat, and bow with those who bow in worship.”

Zakat ( Charity )

Zakat is more than giving money – it’s about caring for others. Every year, Muslims who can afford it share a small portion of their wealth (usually 2.5%) with those in need. It teaches empathy, reduces poverty, and reminds us that wealth is a trust from Allah. By giving, we purify not only our wealth but also our hearts from greed.

As Allah S.W.T mention in (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:110)

“And establish prayer and give zakat.”

Sawm ( Fasting in Ramadhan )

Every year during Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset. No food, no drink – but it’s much more than that. Fasting trains patience, gratitude, and self-control. It’s a time to reflect, strengthen faith, and increase acts of kindness. At sunset, families break the fast together, and the month ends with a beautiful celebration called Eid al-Fitr.

As Allah mention in (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:183)

“O you who have believed, fasting is prescribed upon you as it was prescribed upon those before you, so that you may become righteous.”

Hajj ( Pilgrimage )

Hajj is a spiritual journey to Makkah that every Muslim aims to do once in their life if they can. It’s a powerful experience where millions from around the world stand together, all wearing simple white clothes, leaving behind differences of wealth and status. It’s about humility, unity, and a reminder that we all return to Allah one day.

As Allah mention in (Surah Al-Imran, 3:97)

“And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House – for whoever is able to find thereto a way.”

To sum up, The Five Pillars of Islam are like a roadmap for Muslims – they shape how we believe, pray, give, fast, and make the journey of Hajj. They keep us close to Allah, remind us to care for others, and guide us to live with purpose, discipline, and unity.

That’s all from me. Thank you!

Assalamualaikum and hello again ! For week 3, we have discussed about The Pillars of Faith (Rukun Iman).

Our Naqibah once said that "As Muslims, our faith isn’t just about words, it’s about what we believe deep inside and how we live it every day. That’s why the 6 Pillars of Faith (Rukun Iman) are so important. They’re the foundation of who we are.

1) Belief in Allah
Allah is One, the Almighty.
How do we strengthen this belief?

Pray 5 times daily (faith in action).

Reflect on the Qur’an (learn & live by it).

Look at the universe (be amazed by His creation).

Believe in Allah the way He’s described in the Qur’an & Sunnah.

2) Belief in the Angels
Angels are created from light, not like humans.
Examples: Raqib & Atid who record all our deeds.
Knowing this makes us more mindful & increases our taqwa.

3) Belief in the Divine Books

Zabur (to Prophet Dawud)

Taurat (to Prophet Musa)

Injil (to Prophet Isa)

Qur’an (to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ)

The Qur’an is our ultimate guide. Not just to read, but to understand, integrate, and practice. Because knowledge without action = nothing

Always ask Allah for guidance to stay on the right path.

Conclusion
Believing in Allah, His Angels, and His Books is the foundation of being a Muslim. Faith is not only in the heart but it has to be lived out daily. Practicing the pillars of faith shows the beauty of Islam & proves we are true Muslims. When we live by it, in shaa Allah, we’ll find happiness in this world and the Hereafter.

That's all from me. Thank you !

Throughout this first semester’s usrah, I have gained many valuable lessons that have helped me in building my character and faith. Usrah is not only a space to seek knowledge, but also a platform for self-reflection, strengthening iman, and improving daily practices.

Some of the key lessons I learned include the importance of maintaining a strong relationship with Allah through worship, understanding the role of the Prophet ﷺ as a role model, appreciating the concepts of ihsan and adab in daily life, and believing in the Hereafter and qada’ qadar as the foundation of faith. These reflections reminded me that Islam is not just theory, but a complete way of life.

I also learned to appreciate the role of my usrah peers who continuously remind, share insights, and provide encouragement. The calm and open discussions created a supportive environment that made me more confident to share my thoughts and work on my weaknesses.

Overall, this usrah has had a positive impact on me.

It reminded me that the journey of a Muslim is to continuously improve oneself, increase knowledge, and strive to draw closer to Allah in every aspect of life. I hope to remain consistent in practicing what I have learned, not only during my studies but throughout my everyday life.

Hikmah means wisdom. In Islam, hikmah is the ability to understand what is right and act correctly. Hikmah can be gained through worship because worship builds good inner qualities like sincerity, humility, and focus. Hikmah is also a combination of knowledge and action.

The purpose of hikmah is to help Muslims understand Islam better and practice it in daily life. In education, hikmah helps students think deeply, ask questions, and apply Islamic values in real situations.

Niyyah means intention. Every action must be done for Allah SWT. Good deeds without sincere intention may not be accepted. To keep a good niyyah, we must be sincere, have pure intention, be clear about our goal, stay focused, and be consistent.

Amal means good deeds and worship such as prayer, zakat, fasting, hajj, and kindness to others. Amal should be done with sincere intention and practiced regularly, not only sometimes.

Ihsan means worshipping Allah as if you see Him. Even if you cannot see Him, believe that Allah always sees you. Ihsan also includes good character like patience, honesty, humility, and compassion. To practice ihsan, we must understand it, apply it in daily life, reflect on ourselves, and slowly make it part of our character.

In conclusion, Hikmah, Niyyah, Amal, and Ihsan are important parts of a Muslim’s life. Hikmah teaches us to be wise, Niyyah reminds us to always have sincere intentions, Amal encourages us to do good deeds, and Ihsan guides us to worship Allah with full awareness. When we practice all these together, we become better Muslims with strong faith, good character, and meaningful actions in our daily life.

Zakah is one of the pillars of Islam. Every Muslim who is able must pay zakah. Zakah is not meant to burden Muslims, but to help them become better servants of Allah and care for others in society.

Meaning of Zakah

Zakah means growth, cleanliness, and blessing. In Islam, zakah is a fixed amount of wealth that Muslims must give to people in need. Zakah is not only spiritual worship, but also social worship because it helps the community.

Zakah is the third pillar of Islam after shahadah and prayer. Allah often mentions zakah together with prayer, showing how important it is.

In the Quran, zakah is also called sadaqah.

Virtues of Zakah

1. Tawakkul (Trust in Allah)

Giving zakah teaches Muslims to trust Allah. A Muslim who gives zakah shows that he does not depend on money, but depends on Allah. He believes Allah will replace and increase what he gives.

2. Ukhuwwah (Brotherhood)

Zakah builds brotherhood among Muslims. It teaches care, love, and empathy. It reduces selfishness and helps create unity in the community.

Zakah also connects two relationships:

– With Allah (because it is His command)

– With people (because others receive the help)

Conclusion

Zakah has both spiritual and social benefits. It teaches Muslims to rely on Allah, feel peace when giving, and not love wealth too much. Zakah also helps the needy and strengthens unity in society.

Throughout this second semester’s usrah, I have grown spiritually and personally. The sessions helped me become more aware of my responsibilities as a Muslim and motivated me to improve myself.

I learned the importance of consistency in worship, good character, sincerity, patience, and trusting Allah. These lessons reminded me that real change starts from within and requires effort.

I also appreciate my usrah peers for creating a supportive environment through sharing and reminders, which encouraged me to reflect and improve.

Overall, this usrah has strengthened my relationship with Allah and taught me that Islam is not only about knowledge, but also practice. These approaches made the usrah sessions meaningful, organised, and easier to follow.

As for further improvements, the following could be considered:

• Do moreeeee interesting activity to make sure all the usrah members are interested with the sharing.

• Make the usrah at the specific place such as classroom or usrahroom.

• More reflection-based activities to help members relate the topics to their personal lives.

• Occasional small group discussions so everyone has a chance to participate actively.

• Short goal-setting sessions at the end of usrah to encourage members to apply what they learned during the week.
