Charles was born in Madrid. 

He is now best remembered for his physical disabilities; believed to be the result of inbreeding, and the war for his throne that followed his death.

When Charles became king (in 1665) the spanish empire or monarchy remained an enormous global confederation. 

He died (mercifully) in 1700 at the age of 39. Because he had no children, his death caused a 12-year war in Europe known as the War of Spanish Succession. The Habsburgs’ reign was over.

He was the king of France and Navarre, and it was the person who judged the National Convention of the French Revolution. Because of his death the absolute monarchy finished in France. So, that was reason to move from the monarchy to republic.

The first part of his reign was marked by attempts to reform the French government in accordance with Enlightenment ideas. 

Louis was arrested in the 10 of August of 1792.

It was the beginning of Bourbon dynasty. However, some crowns that were part of Spain didn’t recognize him and took part in an alliance in favour of Charles the archduke of Austria. As a consequence, there was a war between two sides: one side was in favour of Philip and the other one in favour of Charles.
