         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Das Mahavidyas are derived from one goddess, named Sati, who split into ten separate entities.  Sati's father is named Daksha Prajapati, who is a direct descendant of Brahma.  Sati married a god named Shiva and was married to him until she split into the Das Mahavidyas.          <title>Origin Story</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Das Mahavidyas were formed by Sati during a confrontation with her husband, Shiva.  During her marriage to Shiva, she never felt as though he respected her as the Divine Mother she was and instead treated her as though she was an ignorant woman.  When she confronted him, he attempted to run, so Sati split herself into ten separate beings to stop him, therefore becoming the Das Mahavidyas.
