So this is the only book cover I could find. To my understanding, the objects are things that make up Sanchez. The blade, the bullet, the blood, etc. It's actually a really cool cover. You most likely wouldn't understand it until you read the book.

My Bloody Life: The making of a Latin King is a really deep book. It's a front row seat in gang-life and all the dangers that come with it.
Reymundo Sanchez was basically abandoned by his abusive mother and step-father and was left in Chicago. There he meets a lot of gang members and quickly befriends them... sort of... only at the age of 14 he goes through the hardcore life of being associated with gangs. There's drugs, sex, and Blood. lots of it.

First off, this book has made me cry more than once. I love the way it's written, it's so... omg it's like Sanchez is right here next to me, telling me his life story. Whenever he feels fear in the book, I felt it while reading. There aren't many books that can do that to me. I will not say why I can relate but I can, and I totally feel why he did the things he did or said the things he said, even thought the things he thought. Though personally, I would've handled it differently. When all that stuff builds up and you have no one to vent to, it'll drive you crazy, it'll make you do the unthinkable.

"Even with all the hatred I felt for my mother I felt the need to come to her defense when Papo called her a bitch. That's just the way it is. Honor thy mother no matter how much pain and suffering she inflicts on you." Pg.22
"To be a leader and not a follower meant that I had to be cold-blooded, violent, and uncaring. It wasn't right to feel empathy for the suffering of others. I wasn't supposed to react to the sight of blood dripping out of a human body. I was supposed to ignore and even laugh at the screams for mercy and the terror." Pg 73
"Death was supposed to be a normal thing that would make me a leader--a leader, not a follower. I would hear this phrase many times in my life. Only later did I understand that it never fit the occasion." Pg.73
