1. Saqifa is assembly hall. Ansar met at this place. They met up to choose a leader among themselves. The ansar are the medians that helped the people settle into madina.

2. This happened in 622 CE.

3. The ansar wanted to elect muhajirun. Since he was a companion of prophet Muhammad.

3. People said he was very respectful and was a kinsmen of the prophet.

5. Saqifa was the election of the next leader for the muslims but they didn’t want Hazrat Ali. They wanted someone else, they didn’t choose Hazrat Ali, they didn’t believe he was suitable for the huge role.
