A single note

In the book we speak on this concept of what a single note can do in a piece of music. When thinking of how I could interrupt this idea, I though of how awkward it would be to have a piece of music that played the same note over and over again. I came to the conclusion that the idea of a single note can be used to send across a powerful message. The repetitive power would show the importance of that specific note in the piece of music.

I agree that Ratliffs idea of a single note can be uncomfortable to listeners but it allows us to explore that awkward space in the music. It lets you dwell on the simple in each piece which it really cool. I also have more of an interest in finding out what certain songs sound like with a single instrument and if they use the idea of a single note.
