  • Alligators have tough skin due to the amount of fighting they encounter with their prey, as well as the sun.
  • They have around 80 teeth in their mouth at one time, and they use their teeth when they chomp down on their prey. They may also use their teeth to drag their prey underwater until they drown. Their teeth can also be replaced. 
  • Their eyes are placed on the top of their head, and alligators have two eyelids on each eye - their inner eyelid is crystal clear, and allows them to see underwater when swimming or looking for prey.
