Friends can be often engaged in cultural activities like spending time together, spending holidays, and etc. The way friends speak to each other using slang, idioms, and humor can reflect on our culture. Eating together and sharing different recipes can refelct on our culture. Everything I’ve describe is something that me and my friend that is shown has done together since we’ve met, and I can say that we really enjoy ourselves!

Education

As you get older in life you realize that education is the most important thing that you could ever have. You get through life better, and having the knowledge helps you get throught your own life-situations. Moat people in our culture think that you don’t need education to get through life but in reality you do. Hinsdale South is a good school that helps us learn a lot, and in different ways. They offer you so much help because they would hate for you to fail or mess up your career. Getting your education is so important to our staff here.

Sport

As my high school years go by I want to try to stay as active as possible, and join as many sports as I possibly can but cheerleading is my go-to sport. Our culture give us so much physical activity which could help people stay active throughout their lives. When I was 5 or 6, me and my sister was on this cheerleading team at my church, and we would do so many fun things. As I grew older, I started to like cheer more and more, especially when I was in 7th grade thats when I knew that cheer would be the sport that I would always take serious and Im looking forward to having more fun in these next 2 years of highschool!

Family

I have 5 siblings in total, but on my mom’s side is just 3 girls (including me). My mom and dad are both two strong individuals that love taking care of their children. Family is where I feel the most comfortable and supportive and safe. I wouldn’t take them for granted, and they are very much appreciated! Most people in our culture can’t even say the same, but I’m forever grateful to have these people in my life.

My favorite shoe brand is Jordan/Nike, which this has become the most popular shoe brand in our country. In our culture, people most like these shoes for fashion, sports, and many other things. I feel like since it’s associated with Michael Jordan, everyone would most likely choose this shoe brand over anything.

I am a black, female African American. Our culture has been affected in so many ways. Most African American people been through racial conflicts, prejudice, violence, and oppression. After all of those bad things, I can say that my culture is very strong and can sometimes be misunderstood.

Traveling

Less than 2 weeks ago my family and I traveled to Kankakee. Which was like 45 minutes - 1 hour. Most people feel as though traveling could be important because you’re exploring new things, social connections, and it could have an impact on your mental health. Traveling also challenge people to step out of their comfort zone.
