         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the 17th century and 18th century Angola was a source of slaves for the Portuguese.  However, in 1961 there was a rebellion. As a result of the rebellion, forced labor was abolished but different groups in Angola began a guerrilla war against the Portuguese. Angola became independent from Portugal on 11 November 1975 but civil war continued.</div>]]></description>
