I think that you should have the responsibility to go to military service for only 1 month. So, that if there is something going on in the country, such as war and attacks, then you should be able to fight and make sure that the country stays safe. 1 month is enough because if you have to do this then you would at least get a little bit of a taste on how military works and how you can defend yourself.

When people turn 18, their life is really just beginning, and if everyone is automatically forced to do service right away, they won't have a chance to maybe go to college or figure out their life. In my country military service is mandatory for the duration of two years however within the military many occupations can be chosen from in attempt to eliminate fear of combat for citizens. All of this at the age of 20. 

Before this service however, at the age of 16 every citizen must assist some form of occupational work for example assisting waiters/waitresses at a restaurant.

I know that some places require this to happen but I think that it should be a volunteered service. Working in the military is a dangerous task and in my opinion, it is a waste of resources and should only be active to work against terrorists. Because of this I think that there should be no requirement to go to the military. I also think that having to do service such as cleaning up parks and helping elders and minors should not be allowed because it is forcing others to do something less productive and forces people to pursuit careers after the matter. In conclusion this is a system that does not work and should be avoided.
