By the child taking control over herself swinging the bat and hitting the ball off the tee she was successful in this scenario. By the child being encouraged and supported she was able to create a virtue of strong will and confidence.

"The strength that emerges during this stage is will.

Age 8: Child did not make the team.

When Madi tried out for an All-Star team she had previously made, she did not make it the second year. This caused her to feel like she was no longer good enough. This is an example of making a child feel inferior. The sense that society is demanding something from them that they can not provide or live up to can cause anguish. This can have a child doubting their own abilities and can cause them to doubt their own abilities and can cause them to not reach their full potential. In this instance, she did not succumb to the demands of feeling inferiority. She worked hard and kept progressing her softball skill set to overcome the crisis within this stage of life. She was able to look past what could have been a set back to form a better sense of industry and self worth.

"If children are unable to obtain praise of others or lack of motivation and self esteem, they may develop a feeling of low self worth and thus develop a sense of inferoity."

Age 10- Made her first travel team!

Madi made her first travel softball team. She worked hard and achieved her goal. In this stage children often begin to learn to do things on their own. Being on travel team helps the child do more on their own. This is also a stage where a child's peers begin to influence their self worth. By making a team of like-minded athletes, the child is surrounded by peers that have the same value and moral compass. In this stage the child formed a sense of pride and competent for society's approval. By making a team based off of skills, the child can be proud of their own accomplishments. Without this success, the child could form a sense of inferiority and loose their sense of value through the demands of society.

"Developing a sense of industry , by contrast, involves learning how to work hard to achieve goals. Child, McGraw-Hill
