A safe room environment is a class where all students and the teacher respect each other’s ideas, students are responsible for their actions and words. The class has a culture that welcomes and appreciates what the students have to offer.
One of my biggest take aways was the collaboration responses. I knew they are valuable but was unsure of how to implement them in the class. I enjoy the format and how there are short and long responses

I was hired in February, so a little less than half a year. A safe room environment is were students feel comfortable and confident.

This is my first year with my own class in k-12. I have subbed for 2.5 years and I taught at cal poly Pomona for 3.

A safe classroom environment is one in which all students understand the expectations and protocols provided by the teacher and there is respect and understanding between both the teacher and the students.

Take away: safe classrooms are built not only on emotional safety but also physical safety. Safety in and out school needs to be taught and practiced in order to be effective

In a safe room environment, students should feel able to ask questions, and do their best and not be afraid to be wrong.

My biggest takeaway is to keep practicing my attention getters. Every year I give up after a week or 2 and I hope to find 1 that I can stick with this year.

This is my 3rd year teaching full time. Previously I also taught as a guest teacher for 4 years and as a paraprofessional for 8months.
A safe room environment involves both physical and emotional safety. Students and faculty understand and follow guidelines that address floor/spatial hazards. There is also an understanding of respectful safety within this environment as well.

This will be my first full year as a teacher (took over mid year in January). Prior I had been a resident substitute teacher for 2 and a half years at Brown Elementary and a CAPS leader at Paakuma for 3 years. A safe learning environment is a place where students feel valued, loved, and respected.

1) This will be my first full year teaching, I started with 2 months left at the end of last school. Before this year I have worked afterschool in SBCUSD for 5 years as a CAPS vendor teaching musical theater to elementary students. 2) A safe learning environment is one where students feel welcome and like they are able to learn the skills they need to be successful in the classroom and out. Collaborating is a large part of it and is very structured so that students can share comfortably.
