As a student working toward a degree in management information systems, Mr. Kent launched Rigzone, a company that involved products and sales in the oil and gas industry. After selling this venture, he launched OilPro.com, one of the first professional networks in the oil and gas industry. He also launched RigLogix, a system that tracks global offshore drilling. Turning tragedy into triumph, Mr. Kent was diagnosed with cancer but used the diagnosis as an opportunity to support others with the disease. His blog at CancerCorner.org is a resource for nutritional information and updates on cancer treatments. Outside of entrepreneurship, Mr. Kent is active in his community.
