Why its transformative: This book talks about multiple topics that are considered transformative. The parents in this book are the same sex, while one is African American and the other is Caucasian. It talks about skin coming in all different forms including freckles, dimples and birthmarks. Summary: This story is a children's book that has the same plot as the book written by Hans Christian Anderson. In this story the prince is in search of meeting a princess. He searches all over but cant seem to find the one. One night there was a terrible storm and a princess came knocking on his door. She said she was a real princess so in order to find out if she really was, the queen had her lay on 20 mattresses which had a pea at the bottom of all of them. The next morning the queen asked how she slept and the princess said she slept terribly. This is how they knew she was a real princess.
Why its transformative: This story is a old story and very popular.
